| rob User Info... | I just have to post this because its been bugging me. Now, I'm playing in a band because I love to write music. Its a way to fucking express myself so I DON'I buy a gun and ..... well never mind thats why I write music. Well any ways what I'm wondering is are you, the people, in a band to make money or are you in a band because you love music in general.? I'm writing this because I do all the booking for our band and I keep getting flack for not getting enough cash for us, but really, I"M NOT DOING FOR THE MONEY!!! At the same time, it is correct to demand to be compensated for your efforts when you are providing the entertainment for an establishment. | Lucius User Info... | I play in a band to enhance my playing ability. I write music but I don't think anything I do is original so therefor do not consider myself artistic (more mathematical). Basically I just want to be the best guitar player I can be. I don't make anymoney doing it (unless I start to teach again) even then I make more at my regular job then I would teaching. Im in a band becuase i love guitar i love writing music and i love being able to connect with people..even thou im a tard and well haha lets leave it at that Im also in it to say hey im in a band..i have shirts/ and buttons and made a cd and hey..thats me playing. | SickFuk User Info... | I really don't care about making money by making music... but it is a good feeling when someone pays you to do what you love... Singing death metal to me is like a form of anger management... if I didn't have a mike to scream into, I'd probably be in jail... | wanless User Info... | Chicks is a major bonus to being in a band, groupies are awsome. But I like being in a band because it gives me a reason to be better at playing drums. Also the feeling you have when you are up on stage and everyone is cheering and moshing is better then doing a tab of E. The parties after the gigs kick ass too. | Mutilashawn User Info... | Anyone who is in a band for the money is a fucking moron. ESPECIALLY is you are in a metal band. The only thing I care about is maybe breaking even, if not OH WELL!!! Whenever I invest any cash into a band I just write it off as gone for good, if it comes back it's a bonus. Creating should be your first and foremost priority, not marketing or all of that bullshit.
