so all reviews are based on a 1-10 basis. for my choice of the years biggest disapointment, I choose...( drum roll please)

HYPNOTIZE!!! I give this record a -5 ( that's right minus 5 )
for being this years most disapointing peice of shit. I loved mezmerize, thought it was a really solid record. But hypnotize is a fucking joke. - Wed, 30 Nov 2005 4:10pm

Right now I can't think of anything that really disappointed me. I always try to listen to good music and it ends up being so. Something might come to me later.

PS: A Stellar Collapse rules. More shows now. - Thu, 1 Dec 2005 12:41am

disappointed as in expected better than the result?

the new A Day In Black And White... it's still good but wasn't what I expected

a lot of new hardcore music that is trying to adopt the toughest "tough guy" image and/or getting all that hip hop culture stuff involved, doesn't really appeal to me.

the new jamiroquai, worst album by them yet, I loved the others but they got progressivly worse

the new NIN... I like a couple songs but it is the worst album release

uhh, kincaide kind of got singier in a band way even though I haven't actually heard any new releases - Fri, 2 Dec 2005 9:52am

The new Nickleback record. Man, what a let down I thought they were goig to play some more serious 80's style thrash/doom metal like all their other records this time. Sell outs. - Fri, 2 Dec 2005 4:03pm

Besides, I've got to keep up to date on things at home somehow, right?

I still try to catch your show when I can. Unfortunately, with the time difference your slot runs from 7-8pm, so I'm not always around a computer when you're on.

Would it still be cool if I stopped by to co-host with you while I'm in town? - Mon, 5 Dec 2005 7:55am

...can i stop by and make faces in the window?

the new weezer album wasn't as disappointing as the last one.

i ain't even bought the new nin cd.

i was pretty bummed about sage francis' cd,and atmosphere's.

i was kind of disappointed that theset's cd sounds really good, so i have to keep making fun of the way they dress. nice pants.

i got the new mars volta cd the other day and it didn't blow my mind, but i wasn't on any drugs at the time, either, so that's not really a fair assessment. - Mon, 5 Dec 2005 12:09pm

It is probably horrendously uncool to even mention on this bastion of hip-dom, but the new White Stripes album dissappointed me in all sorts of ugly ways. Oh, and the new Wheezer really blew. - Tue, 6 Dec 2005 10:48am

I'd say....
Audioslave - Out of Exile (some good tunes but either then that not exactly the best album out there and Tom Morello's solos really suck seems like its just musical vomit with effects)

Our Lady Peace - Healthy in Paranoid Times (they've kinda hit a rut but i expected mehhh at least a better effort then that... or a better intake of all that music)

Story of the Year - In Wake and Determination.... iuno it didn't catch me as hard as it did my othero ne.. maybe i need to give this cd mroe of a gander.. i listen to so much music i don't think i've properly listened to this cd from front to back properly - Sat, 17 Dec 2005 11:50am

The new Fear Factory was so bad I returned it to the store the day after I got it. I couldn't stomach past the fourth track. It's like they used Metallica's St. Anger as their blueprint, but took the shit factor even further.
With Teeth was probably more disappointing for me overall. While it's listenable, I'm used to NIN being inspirational. And the lyrics are just embarrqassing for the most poart. All that said, NIN still puts on a great live show. - Sat, 17 Dec 2005 3:57pm

Because that's never happened before...

I haven't really heard many bad albums this year. That could be because I haven't bought many 2005 albums this year. The new Mars Volta wasn't as focused as it could have been. And the new Porcupine Tree album is showing that every album is getting a little more "commercial"(I couldn't think of a better word, but I know it's out there). - Fri, 23 Dec 2005 10:18pm

10,000 Days- Tool
Although there is some good tracks, I was expecting so much more. Not the worst album, just the biggest dissapointment. Maynard should have stuck with A Perfect Circle, and I never thought I would say that.
I didn't even buy the new Audioslave it sounded so bad. I expected magic from those guys. Whatever happened to Kim Thayhill? - Sun, 28 May 2006 2:05pm

I thought both Mezmerize and Hypnotize were disappointing. I love System of a down... I've built up this shrine-like wall of worship for them.. All their other albums are some of the best albums I've ever heard, and make them my favourite band... They also play a killer live show.. But with the 2 new albums, I just don't get the same attachment to their songs. The songs themselves are a bit too, I don't know, expected. You know what I mean, the kind of songs you can get sick of easily. I just hope that if and when s.o.a.d releases another album, they go back to their old style and stick with music that's a bit more, in my opinion, real. - Sun, 28 May 2006 6:55pm

I actually liked 10,000 days, it's WAY better then their last Tool album (Lateralus) though I need to listen to that CD again as I don't quite remember how it sounded (I might be getting confused with the last Perfect Circle CD). I doubt there's an album which disappointed me, I was even surprised with the new AFI CD. - Mon, 29 May 2006 12:12pm

first of all i can't really comment on this because it is not my scene i suppose but i do not think that s.o.a.d "sold out" or became "un-real". The mesmerize music is the most interesting stuff i've ever heard them to. Just because they aren't genuinely heavier doesn't mean that they aren't "real", they are just doing something else i guess. I still don't love system of a down but that cd actually caught my attention where as everything else i just threw in with papa roach. - Tue, 30 May 2006 7:46am

I didn't mean to say soad's music was "fake", it just feels that way to me because I don't share the same attachment with their new songs as I do with their old ones. I still like the songs on Mezmerize and Hypnotize (Holy Mountains is one of the best songs I've ever heard) but I just don't don't get the same enjoyment from them. Comparing songs like "P.L.U.C.K", "Spiders", "Shimmy", "Toxicity", "Forest" and "The Highway song" to newer ones like "She's like Heroin", "Violent Pornography" and "Kill Rock n' roll" well.. there seems to be such a difference... musically... I just think soad could've done a wayyy better job. - Tue, 30 May 2006 6:29pm

Well usually I find new stuff in #altrock on EFNet. An album usually is promo'd or advanced at first, where is usually where the MP3 pirates get their releases from, I blame the labels for this practice. And yes, SoaD sure changed with the new releases (Hypnotize/Mezmerise), though I still think "Lonely Day" is a good song. - Tue, 30 May 2006 7:34pm Edited: Wed, 31 May 2006 1:02am
