What's going on with the Misfits show? Will the ticket price go down? Surely the guarantee has gone down, without 45 Grave on the bill. Give us some info! - Sun, 2 Oct 2005 2:54pm

wake up, douche-bag! the misfits suck now. anyone going to the misfits show is a jackass who has no business listening to music! it's people like that who are allowing bands like nickelback and velvet revolver to sell records. Fuck!!!

I know what the Misfits are now, thanks. I'm quite certain my money isn't going towards Nickelback or Velvet Revolver. And clearly, any person who can't just fuck off and accept that other people will go to see bands that said person doesn't happen to like, has no business discussing music in an open forum. So why don't you just go talk about "good" shows with your music snob friends, motherfucker. I'm pretty sure my original post wasn't directed at you. - Mon, 3 Oct 2005 12:30am

I gotta say that with this post, in addition to my thread a couple weeks ago about 45 Grave not coming, Atomique is being pretty fucking lame by not posting any new information. - Mon, 3 Oct 2005 10:46am

I did not, which I fully admit that I should, however I still think it's pretty weak that there's been threads about this for awhile now and Atomique does not seem to want to say anything publicly. I mean, not even the show listing has changed, and this is somebody that (judging by how often you see postings from them) does not usually go for weeks at a time without checking the messageboard. Even if that is the case... when a show changes, and you have it listed on a site, you need to change the listing and let people know what's going on. - Mon, 3 Oct 2005 4:20pm

I saw the misfits the last time they came to to town at the ice house. It was the worst show I think I have ever seen. I meen I grew up idolizing those guys, they represented hard core punk. They were pretty underground. you couldnt find a misfits(crimson ghost) skull shirt anywhere and you could get linched for it if you had one! They have truly apitomized sell out punk. you can practicly get misfits underwear at nick nack shops in mayfare mall. there homo's have fun whoeverz goin - Mon, 3 Oct 2005 7:48pm

Currently no replacement opener has been confirmed for The Misfits on Oct. 7th At Sugar. We're still trying to see what we can come up with. We regret that 45 Grave decided not to be a part of this tour, but the circumstances that led to that had nothing to do with us. Support acts are always subject to change. Our apologies for not updating our listing on this website. That is now corrected. - Mon, 3 Oct 2005 8:16pm

I'm going to interpret "Support acts are always subject to change" as "No, ticket prices will remain the same". - Mon, 3 Oct 2005 9:58pm

Thanks for the update. So what happens to the ticket prices if you don't find a decent opener? I am making the assumption (which may be wrong, but that would be surprising) that your guarantee for The Misfits alone is lower than for The Misfits/45 Grave package. Can you please clarify this? - Mon, 3 Oct 2005 10:19pm

The ticket price will not go down. Support acts are generally not considered to be the primary reason people choose to buy tickets to shows. For a few people 45 Grave originally being on the bill for this show may have been a big part of why they bought tickets, but the majority of people are paying to see The Misfits.

To answer Frazer Johnson's question....when a support act cancels on a bill the cost difference to a promoter is quite nominal. In pretty much all situations support acts recieve a very very very very small artist fee in comparison to what headlining acts recieve. This holds true for local or touring support acts. The main reason why smaller bands play for larger bands is for exposure to larger audiences then they can draw on their own. Hopefully this in turn leads to support acts developing a stronger fan base of thier own in the future. - Tue, 4 Oct 2005 1:17am

Gotta say that I'm pretty skeptical over the explanation, and I really hope that Atomique isn't trying to make a couple extra bucks due to unfortunate circumstances. As I understand it from reading posts and talking directly to quite a few people that were planning on attending this show, 45 Grave were a very big reason. I'll keep this in mind when deciding on whether or not to go to future Atomique Productions shows. - Tue, 4 Oct 2005 8:20am

Complaining on a public messageboard isn't the best way to go about getting your complaint heard, Frazer. If you wanted an answer from Atomique, you should have contacted them directly through email or phone. That way you avoid idiots like Pubert or me making annoying comments. They've explained the situation twice already in this thread, and the fact that Grave 45 bailed is not the fault of Atomique. They do a lot for the live music scene in Victoria, so if you aren't happy with the answer they gave you, either go to the show or sell your ticket to somebody who would be happy to go. In either case, please stop whining about it here...you're only going further aggravate Pubert! - Tue, 4 Oct 2005 11:58am

haggis - "they represented hard core punk. They were pretty underground. you couldnt find a misfits(crimson ghost) skull shirt anywhere and you could get linched for it if you had one!"

I could be wrong but i heard that the crimson ghost is on the free market now, and that would explain why you see it all over the place.

Oh a pubert, you must know first hand that the misfits suck dirty corpse dicks, why else would you say such a thing. I could see if they weren't very good on stage and sold out, saying that "they weren't very good on stage and that they sold out" woud be very true. But since you know first hand that they suck dirty corpse dicks, i'll also believe that you were there either watching or partaking in the vulgar act you speak of. - Tue, 4 Oct 2005 12:57pm

Cooper, this thread was not started as a complaint, it was an inquiry about an upcoming show. I chose to put it on the message board (rather than sending a direct email) partially because I know that Atomique posts on here, and also because I know that I am not the only one that was wondering about the show, and no word had been given. Also, Atomique did not really explain the situation twice. They answered part of it with the first post, and part of it with the second post after I prodded for more details regarding the show's price. I do realize that it was not Atomique's fault that 45 Grave cancelled, but for a lot of people 45 Grave was one of the main reasons to attend the show. I do not think that Atomique is recognizing the fact that although 45 Grave were just the support act, they were also a major attraction for the show. Now I know Atomique's position on this, and I'm unhappy with it, so I'll just have to decide what to do from here. - Tue, 4 Oct 2005 2:11pm

I post this not to stir sh*t up, but to offer an explanation on behalf of the band. You can find this all over the Net, and it is an official post from the band:

45 GRAVE 's TOUR with the MISFITS in the U.S. and Canada HAS BEEN CANCELED.

45 GRAVE FANS ARE URGED TO SEEK REFUNDS FROM THE VENUES and VOICE YOUR DISSAPOINTMENT.

Due to irreconcilable differences in the business practices of their booking agency, Artists Worldwide - which manages the Misfits - 45 GRAVE have decided to separate from Artists Worldwide. This resulted in pulling off the Misfits tour due to lack of returned contracts and cooperation for the slated 8 week tour.

This decision was made after counsel with their legal advisors, business partners, label and management. This has resulted in 45 GRAVE pulling out of their tour with the Misfits.

This decision was reached to also protect the interest of 45 GRAVE's investors and sponsors (including Hot Topic, Vamp Energy Drink, Monster House Creations, Manic Panic, Coffin Case, Envision Graphics and Punk Rock Skateboards).

TO THE FANS:
45 GRAVE would like to urge their FANS to voice their dissapointment to the venues and promoters they were slated to perform at, and seek refunds if necessary. To the FANS, your voice matters, let it be heard!

45 GRAVE wish the Misfits the best in their future endeavors, and we will greatly miss the opportunity to have shared the stage for the duration of this tour.

45 GRAVE plan to pursue other tour opportunities that are presenting themselves both in the USA and abroad, and plan to explore possibilities of new CD releases on the horizon.

TO THE VENUES:
Venues that may have sent deposits to Artists Worldwide for 45 GRAVE should arrange with Artists Worldwide to get them returned or have it applied to the Misfits guarantees.

Artists Worldwide have expressed they do not want 45 GRAVE to honor or salvage any of the dates on this tour with the Misfits, despite many venues who have contacted 45 GRAVE trying to do so. Please take down all references to 45 GRAVE off your advertising and websites, and make it clear that 45 Grave will not be performing. We expect you will offer refunds to 45 GRAVE fans.

45 GRAVE encourage venues to contact their management at Dark Moon Entertainment to seek postponement dates based on demand.

For those promoters who would still like to arrange postponement dates (during the Halloween season or thereafter), contact us and check back with us to find out what we are working on next. We will work with you next time around. Thank you for all your cooperation and help in getting behind this project.

45 GRAVE welcome the opportunity to perform because they do not want to dissapoint their fans or sponsors. If we cannot work something out for this one, there is always next time. We already have new tours in the works, so stay tuned! - Tue, 4 Oct 2005 4:27pm

For the fact of the matter, im not a misfits fan, and certainly not a bible thumper. But you are ragging on people who want to see a band play, how cool is that. Who cares what people listen to, hell, i know people who listen to avril lavigne, but you know what, thats what they like. Its called an OPINION, you ever hear of one of those. Oh, and i know what a metaphor is idiot but that was a terrible metaphor, and it looks like it ticked a good soft-spot with you so it just adds a little more comedy.

I confess I have a few Chipmunks albums , of course only the old school hardcore shit ,when Alvin was still in the band and out of rehab .
They’re problem is they got exploited by their manager , he was kind like how Sharon Osborne treats Ozzy when it comes to manipulating Alvin .

And not to many people know this..... but Theodore was a squirrel . Yep it’s true .

Not to sure what came of that other chipmunk ? I think I heard he still tours under “The Chipmunks” name, mainly down in Vegas.

Fucking sell out . Whatever his name is ?

Oh Shit ?

Sorry !

You said “Avril” !
