Events User Info... | HOUSE OF BLUES CONCERTS CANADA presents A.L.O. (ANIMAL LIBERATION ORCHESTRA) With special guestS WEDNESDAY, OCTOBER 19TH RICHARD'S ON RICHARDS VANCOUVER, B.C. DOORS 8:00 pm SHOW 9:00 pm Born from a friendship nurtured during their days at the University of California Santa Barbara, A.L.O. (Animal Liberation Orchestra) includes Steve Adams (bass/vocals), Dan Lebowitz (guitars/percussion/vocals) and David Brogan (drums/vocals). With their new album Fly Between Falls and a supporting slot on Jack Johnson's summer tour, A.L.O. is about to crossover from a beloved cult status West Coast band to a much larger national audience. Part musical explorers, part pop songsmiths, and all-around dynamic performers, A.L.O. began as a nine-piece outfit. After drawing enormous attention in the Santa Barbara area with their rousing stage shows three of the core members returned to their hometown, San Francisco, where they reunited with drummer David Brogan (with whom they had previously played in college). That lineup has solidified and the four friends have brought their energy to A.L.O. Combining a garage band spirit, improvisatory chops, a poppy melodic sense and a funky groove essence, A.L.O.'s uplifting vibe has been dubbed "sex-music boogaloo." However you want to classify it, A.L.O.'s fresh, good-time sound and onstage hijinks (including an S.F. show dubbed the Silky Sensuous Ball) are engaging audiences across the continent. Don't miss your chance to see A.L.O. live at Richard's on Richards on Wednesday, October 19th with special guests. Tickets: $12.50 (INCL.
