The octet's latest, Mirabilis, has hit #3 on U.K. classical charts and #1 in the classical and new age categories on iTunes Canada. On the disc, the Baebes drill even deeper into their chorale sound, matching Latin, Gaelic and olde English texts (along with poetry) for an effect that is eerie yet comforting. Eight young Englishwomen who share a passion for music several centuries old, the Mediaeval Baebes are as 21st century as they come in their ability to bring ancient melodies to a contemporary audience. The Baebes have met with critical and popular acclaim since their first album, Salva Nos, in 1997, which went to No. 2 in the classical charts. Subsequent albums, including Worlds Blysse (which went straight to No. 1) Undrentide, The Rose and Mistletoe & Wine have also met with great success.
