Events User Info... | HOUSE OF BLUES CONCERTS CANADA presents MATTHEW GOOD WITH SPECIAL GUESTS FRIDAY, NOVEMBER 4TH COMMODORE BALLROOM VANCOUVER, BC 868 GRANVILLE STREET COMMODORE BALLROOM INFOLINE: 739-SHOW DOORS 8:00 pm SHOW 9:30 pm The past 10 years have been turbulent and triumphant ones for musician/activist Matthew Good. His nine releases over the past decade have calcified Good's reputation for creating crackling, epic songs. There have been scads of platinum and gold records (all of Matthew Good's albums have achieved Gold status in Canada), 14 Juno Award nominations, and scores of MuchMusic acknowledgments. There have also been wild feuds with other bands, reporters, industry personnel and entire cities (Regina). As well, the ugly dissolution of the highly successful Matthew Good Band, a painful and paralyzing breakdown, and Matthew Good's subsequent triumphant re-emergence as a solo artist and social commentator. In doing so, Matthew Good has sold over 800,000 albums in Canada and is today as active as ever. Matthew Good's current release is In A Coma: 1995-2005, which will be released on September 20, 2005. The deluxe edition features two CDs with a bonus DVD. Disc one features two new songs "Oh Be Joyful" and "Big City Life," the previously unreleased "Pony Boy" and 14 other hits. Disc two showcases nine new acoustic reinterpretations of classic Good songs as well as the Loser Anthems and Lo-Fi Bsides EPs. The bonus DVD features 17 videos, including "While We Were Hunting Rabbits" which was created by a group of aspiring animation students from the renowned Sheridan College. These students (and Matthew Good fans) were inspired by the song and took it upon themselves to create a moving animated piece. Don't miss Matthew Good live at the Commodore Ballroom on Friday, November 4th. Tickets: $34.50 (INCL. GST) + f.f. + s/c Available at all Ticketmaster outlets or Charge By Phone 604-280-4444 Order on-line at http://www.ticketmaster.ca or http://www.hob.ca TICKETS ON SALE FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 9 @ 10:00 AM - Tue, 6 Sep 2005 5:35pm | ||
