The One After Two User Info... | http://www.chartattack.com/damn/2005/08/1801.cfm Picture this: a new show on Global TV — a Canadian O.C., if you will — following the lives of rich summer vacationers and permanent residents of the fictitious Falcon Beach resort. Imagine wakeboarders, surfers and bad acting. What's missing? According to the producers of the one-hour drama Falcon Beach, the answer is obvious — Canadian indie. Independent bands from all across the country have been asked to submit a professionally-mastered CD recording for consideration on the show's soundtrack. "This is a unique opportunity for us to showcase homegrown Canadian talent and offer aspiring bands a chance to have their music heard internationally," the show's producers said in a statement. Filmed in Manitoba, Falcon Beach will be a 13-part series premiering in early 2006. A two-hour pilot, featuring 16 songs from smaller bands Matt Mays And El Torpedo and Pilate and major label artists Sloan, Sam Roberts and Holly McNarland, aired on Global back in January. The show's producers are planning to include Canadian-penned songs in every episode. The series will also air on the American station ABC in summer 2006. If your band are interested in being the background noise of a drama detailing, what the National Post called, "The complicated lives and loves of a group of young adults and their families," you can. Just send a CD, bio, contact information and a signed submission release (available at the show's website) to: Sarah Webster S.L. Feldman & Associates Ltd. Suite 200, 1505 West 2nd Avenue Vancouver, British Columbia V6H 3Y Or email at [email protected]. Submissions will not be returned and only successful bands will be contacted. The deadline for all submissions is September 15. - Thu, 18 Aug 2005 5:51pm | ||
