The Boston septet's rendition of "Tessie," the Boston Red Sox' rallying cry, helped spur the team on to win the 2004 World Series (and figures prominently in the movie Fever Pitch with Jimmy Fallon and Drew Barrymore). Since that historic moment thousands more fans have been added to the group's fanbase, which has already grown into the hundreds of thousands over the course of six albums and nine years of relentless touring. Each one of their records has sold better than the last as the band has grown from supporting act to headliner to Warped Tour mainstage favourites. The Dropkick Murphys' latest, The Warrior's Code, finds the band honing its combination of punk rock, Irish folk, hardcore and rock by adding a newfound sense of melody and majesty to their driving punk energy. As any one of the Murphys' fans can attest, this is a group that engenders rabid loyalty and a passionate outpouring of emotion at every show, each one of which is a celebration of the group's working-class Boston values of solidarity, friendship and determination. | Lurker User Info... | Gang Green would be a rad show. Dropkicks are fun but they're new stuff just isn't as good as their older albums. Still... their live show I'm sure will be great.
