ALL AGES AFTERNOON SHOW: DOORS: 2:30 pm SHOW: 3:00 pm LICENSED EVENING SHOW: DOORS: 8:30 pm SHOW: 9:15 pm At last the wait is over! After touring almost non-stop for three years in support of its debut full-length, U.S./Canadian new wave rock sensations Metric is about to release its follow-up to the acclaimed Old World Underground Where Are You Now? The band, led by vocalist/keyboardist Emily Haines and guitarist James Shaw and featuring the talents of drummer Joules Scott-Key and bassist Joshua Winstead, has been working hard to live up to that stellar calling card. After seven months of recording in Toronto and Montreal Metric is ready to unleash the monster- "Monster Hospital," that is, the first single from the new record, entitled Live it Out. What changes, if any, will have been made to the band's sound is anyone's guess at this point, but odds are the angular keyboards, sexy vocals, pointed social commentary and driving rhythms will remain intact. The band itself describes the record as "10 spontaneous and heartfelt songs that f***ing rock." Needless to say, fans are already salivating at the prospect of more tunes that can go up against Old World hits like "Combat Baby," "Succexxy," "Death Disco," and looking forward to more riveting, charismatic performances like Metric's sold-out (in advance) Commodore appearance this past April. Metric's return this time around promises to deliver double the impact with two shows at the Commodore on the same day - an all-ages set in the afternoon and a licensed gig in the evening. Don't miss Metric with special guests The Most Serene Republic and The Lovely Feathers live at the Commodore Ballroom for an All Ages Afternoon show and Licensed Evening show on Sunday, October 30th.
