Events User Info... | HOUSE OF BLUES CONCERTS CANADA presents BRAZILIAN GIRLS WITH SPECIAL GUEST DJ LUKE MCKEEHAN WEDNESDAY, SEPTEMBER 7TH THE RED ROOM VANCOUVER, BC DOORS 9:00 pm SHOW 10:00 pm Every once in a while something comes along that's a little bit different, but still capable of uniting music fans of all stripes. Such is the case with Brazilian Girls. With influences and styles as varied and multi-faceted as the group members' backgrounds (one South American, one European and two Americans), the New York City quartet has struck stylistic gold with its self-titled debut. The sensuous house of "Don't Stop" and the pulsating Ibiza dance groove of "Dance Till the Morning Sun" are complemented by the smoky film noir atmospheres of "Homme" and the urban adventure of "Corner Store." Lead vocalist Sabina Sciubba has the sultry tones of a midnight chanteuse while the band is an elastic groove machine keeping things bubbling and percolating beneath her with a warm, understated mix of organic instruments and electronic textures. Along with Sciubba's penchant for bold visual statements and her ability to sing in five different languages, Brazilian Girls offer something truly different that has audiences all over the world wanting to find out more about this enigmatic, strangely alluring band. Don't miss Brazilian Girls live at The Red Room on Wednesday, September 7th with special guest DJ Luke McKeehan. Tickets: $15.00 (INCL.
