Events User Info... | HOUSE OF BLUES CONCERTS CANADA presents SCARS OF TOMORROW With special guests STILL REMAINS, THE ACACIA STRAIN AND ON BROKEN WINGS MONDAY, SEPTEMBER 12TH THE RED ROOM VANCOUVER, BC DOORS 9:00 pm SHOW 9:45 pm Scars of Tomorrow were formed in 2000 to cope with their anger and frustration with life, and it shows on the blistering Rope Tied to the Trigger (2004). The Orange County Victory recording artists take the trademark southern California brand of metal-core and mix it with the more traditional hardcore influences of Hatebreed and Madball and the straight-up metal of Slayer. The result is austere, passionate and pissed-off music that has earned the band rave reviews for Rope Tied to the Trigger (produced by Converge's Kurt Ballou) and spots on seminal summer festivals like Hellfest and Furnace Fest. With its pulverizing yet melodic mosh-metal and harmony-laden musical interludes Scars of Tomorrow is one of the most exciting bands of today. Still Remains' 2005 album Of Love and Lunacy, on Roadrunner, follows an independently released debut that led to tours with As I Lay Dying, Poison the Well and Every Time I Die. Full of biting guitars, atmospheric keyboards and ram-paging rhythms, Of Love and Lunacy was produced by Gggarth Richardson (Kittie, Rage Against the Machine) and shows Still Remains to be in the tradition of Euro-metallers like In Flames and Soilwork. But the Grand Rapids, Michigan metal-core act's combination of screaming and singing with tasteful and poetic lyrics full of depth, passion and hope mark Still Remains as more than the sum of its influences. Don't miss Scars of Tomorrow with special guests Still Remains, The Acacia Strain and On Broken Wings when they perform live at the Red Room on Monday, September 12th. Tickets: $12.50 (INCL.
