Events User Info... | HOUSE OF BLUES CONCERTS CANADA and CLASSIC ROCK 101 PRESENTS NAZARETH SATURDAY, OCTOBER 1ST COMMODORE BALLROOM 868 GRANVILLE STREET COMMODORE BALLROOM INFOLINE: 739-SHOW DOORS: 8:00 pm SHOW: 9:30 pm As the first thrilling notes of "This Flight Tonight" kick in a huge cheer goes up from the audience. After all, who hasn't turned up the volume when Nazareth's pummelling version of the Joni Mitchell tune comes on the radio? A band that never fails to draw sell-out crowds, Nazareth continues its mission to rock the world well into the group's fourth decade. Loved for classic rock staples like "Love Hurts," "Broken Down Angel" and of course "This Flight Tonight," the Scottish band is joyously received wherever it goes. It's easy to see why, too, as Nazareth songs have that timeless quality people can't help but respond too, and a sound that practically defines '70s hard rock. And the band has just gotten better with age. Feeding off the audience's energy like the pros they are, the multi-platinum Nazareth-comprised of lead vocalist Dan McCafferty and bassist Pete Agnew, along with younger blokes Jimmy Murrison on lead guitar and Lee Agnew on drums-remain as much a live force to be reckoned with today as when the group first took North America by storm in the mid-'7os with albums like Razamanaz and tunes like "Hair of the Dog." Celebrating the release of a new DVD that charts the band's history and lasting impact with performances, videos and interviews, Nazareth brings its still-thrilling rock 'n' roll back to Vancouver. Don't miss Nazareth live at the Commodore Ballroom on Saturday, October 1st. Tickets: $27.50 (INCL. GST) + f.f. & s/c Available at all Ticketmaster outlets or Charge By Phone 604-280-4444 Order on-line at http://www.ticketmaster.ca or http://www.hob.ca TICKETS ON SALE FRIDAY, JUNE 24TH @ 10:00 AM - Tue, 21 Jun 2005 3:40pm | ||
