| DTjackson User Info... | I see Griphin's topic has been tossed out so I am forced to start a new one. I picked up this CD today and I'm now going through my fifth listen. I have to say that this CD really grows on you quickly. First listen is a big WTF...especially with the lyrics. Gonnorhea Gargonzola? Tony Danza cuts in line? My cock is much bigger than yours? In the end it all adds to the enjoyment of the CD because it's so OUT THERE. It's heavier, it's poppier, it's funnier, it's more prog, more technical...I could go on. I actually think it beats up Toxicity. With Toxicity I had no trouble picking my favourites and ones I'm not too fond with. With Mesmerize I just love it all...perhaps Old School Hollywood is my favourite. Very unexpected. I love this CD. I wish I was a better reviewer but pick up this damn disc! And yeah, it sure is different for a SoaD CD, but there are still a few decent tracks including: BYOB, RevengeA, Radio/Video and Violent Pornography. I guess you have to listen to it a few times to really get into it. Pick up this month's Guitar World for an interview with Daron Malakian where he talks about the new albums. | alain User Info... | Wow... I guess I'll say it's inspiring. People should listen to this whether or not they intend to keep listening to it. If you're a musician, this should open a few more doors. As for me, I'll probably be listening to this for quite a while. System is a very inventive and fun band but it seems you'd rather put a label on something as an excuse to avoid it. I believe in every genre of music you are able to find something you like.
