| Tragedy User Info... | Any bands who wanna play Buffy's Pub in Sooke, that's right, Sooke...yeah, I know, I know. (It's actually done really well in the past, and the bar broke records for liquor sales last week when we booked a death metal band.) Very talented and pretty tight, as they should be, they've been jamming together for about 10 years. Word around the party is they might be playing at the Tolmie Hell House sometime in the near future, SO BE THERE, FUCKERS! You don't want to miss it... There are tons of metalheads in Sooke, there always have been. It's just that until recently most of em have been too drunk to get their shit together... Jeezus, who the hell am I kidding. Sooke does definately have its share of music fans... there was a show on the native rez here by the same band (Sooke Skids) a while ago and according to everyone who went (I had to miss it for that barn show, also in Sooke) it was absolutely nuts. We may all be too young to get into Buffys officially, but that doesn't stop us most of the time, this is Sooke after all. If some bands actually got out here to play, I can guarantee it would be a hell of a show.... btw.. Mito has quite a following here in Sooke and there were a bunch of us at that last Tolmie show too (ie. the entire mosh pit that night) so if SICK comes out we'll all be there. Mosh if you wanna, but if you're being a flailing moron and plowing into people or breaking shit you just might get kicked out, OR you could have a little respect for the fact that Buffy's is the ONLY place in Sooke that is doing the live music thing right now, (thanks to yours truly,) and not fuck it up for everybody. | Tragedy User Info... | FOR NOW...we don't have a PA. It's a pretty small place though, a PA isn't really all that necessary yet. There isn't even a stage, but they're renovating and taking into consideration a functional space that accomodates. When The Skids played they shoved themselves into the corner where the dartboards are. But it worked. This is kind of a new thing to Buffy's so we're working out the bugs. | Tragedy User Info... | Actually, we are in desperate need of bands that aren't metal. We've got metal, and that's a good thing, but I can't do it all the time. I have to mix it up. We're in the process of figuring out what my budget will be, I divide it accordingly between paying the bands, advertising, additional staff (ie.servers and security) and anything else that comes up. How much the band makes depends mainly on experience and what kind of crowd they can bring in, which we sort of have to throw a guess at sometimes. - Sat, 16 Apr 2005 12:36pm | ||

And we have our own selection of motorized chariots to take us hither. Often only takes about 30 minutes actually. Learn to drive as soon as you are old enough. You go Tragedy and good luck. Yes Trajedy, my sister works there. Half sister actually-she works their to save money for the classes she takes at uvic and a place in Victoria.
