I wonder if Gwar is gonna have there usual stage theatrics like it was their own show, you'd think a band like that would be headlining.

Either way, im stoked for them and Opeth. - Sun, 10 Apr 2005 10:25am

you guys are fuckin party poopers, especially nik, he has to talk down on pretty much every decent well-known band that anyone is planning on going to see. some of the bands, sure meh, but it will be a killer show nonetheless!

Lamb of God rules, along with a lot of the other bands..
and the price is right
screw you guys! \m/ - Mon, 11 Apr 2005 4:39pm

Opeth should just do their own tour and ditch these painfully lame metal core bands . . . that or (co-)headline this godawful tour. - Mon, 11 Apr 2005 9:51pm

bwahahahahah.... opeth ....bwahahahahahahahahah... and how do you co-headline? only one band can play after all the others. Gwar does have a better stage show than the rest but I am going to have to go with lamb of god or strapping for my choices to headline.....opeth...bwahahahahahahah. - Tue, 12 Apr 2005 1:18am

let's examine this . . . Opeth will be around MUCH MUCH longer than ANY of these fucking trend jumping excuses for "metal". Fucking metalcore claiming to be underground really makes me sick. And Lamb of God? Maybe they were interesting to me when I was in grade 10. You go enjoy your Revolver magazine metal, I'll enjoy mine. - Tue, 12 Apr 2005 9:22am

I have to agree, Opeth are the strongest band on this bill, especially musically. Gwar are entertaining.. All That Remains have an excellent guitarist, and of course SYL are always fun to watch live, but being local hardly worth it just for them. Other than that, Clutch are a great band that I have liked longer than any other band on that bill with the exception of the ancient Gwar and Ive never had the chance to see them. ( unlike Gwar, ATR, SYL all of whom I have seen ) - Tue, 12 Apr 2005 9:53am

this is just my taste. why does it matter what my thoughts are on these bands? lamb of god is completely generic and uninteresting, i got into this band around (what mutilashawn said) grade 10, when their material was decent. now they've turned into a boring "thrash outfit". i'm sorry i am not into the more mainstream side of things...i just feel that theres more to metal that just whatever we see in the spotlight. perhaps it's that i'm more of a fan of a more "punk" or "DIY" aspect of metal being something that people were afraid to listen to, and bands worked hard on because they had some cool ideas. half of that list is just typical chugga chugga metalcore, and the other half is cheesey attempts to be "badass". i don't equate metal to trying to look tough. i believe it's more about the art of the music itself and what new boundaries you can push. - Tue, 12 Apr 2005 12:04pm

Yeah...Lamb of God is fucking pathetic...especially considering that their former incarnation Burn the Priest was actually fairly decent(they even at one point did a split with Agents of Satan). - Tue, 12 Apr 2005 1:49pm

yah, you may find bands like l.o.g boring, however, i find repetative, annoying bands with constantly uncomprehensible lyrics and blastbeats pretty boring myself. it doesn't matter, we should all be supporting each other, regardless of our tastes.
could argue, waste of time, thanks anyways fellas

p/s i DO think the majority of this bill sux, but it will be a good time nonetheless! - Tue, 12 Apr 2005 6:36pm

Um I checked opeth's site and unfortunatly that date of the tour is not listed, so I'm a little worried. And LOG aren't listed on the sounds site so I dunno where scrape got that from, maybe they are the big announcement for May the 1st. - Tue, 12 Apr 2005 7:03pm

This is what mega-shows should be. Wicked bands, low ticket prices, close to Victoria, and a lot of smaller bands to showcase.

Free beer gardens would really set this show off... - Tue, 12 Apr 2005 11:21pm

And if you could be like Martin Lopez, you'd lose your mind in the middle of a tour and leave your band floundering in North America while you deal with a problem you knew you had and could have dealt with long before.
Not trying to insinuate anything about Martin Lopez...just saying. - Thu, 14 Apr 2005 5:06pm

Martin Lopez had a brain meltdown for the show in Van last year the only redeeming thing was Gene playing with the band that night, Hoglan is the BEST ! The drum Tec. who did the slow shit for Opeth that night sucked a dick. - Thu, 14 Apr 2005 7:27pm
