Compassion Gorilla:

This 8-piece troupe of musical magicians packs a full-on festival presence with tightly orchestrated dance grooves. Their unique concoction of worldbeat, latin folk, dub and psychedelic music enwraps the audience in a spell of dance, magic and melody. Racy horn lines, brazen guitar harmonies, driving hand-percussion rhythms, thick basslines and full-bodied vocal harmonies wash waves over the dancefloor and awaken the primal within.

The Party on High Street:

The Party's unique sound rides a groove provided by funkafied blues bassist Brin (Jammin’) Porter, and drummer Nicholas Houghton, who have enjoyed a long history of jamming together. Guitarist Travis (T-Rav) Charuk paints in and outside these lines with a liquid combination of sharp funk rhythms, warm feel-good leads and tasty psychedelic effects. These voices carry a powerful tune! Brin, Nick and T-Rav all sing and write music, yet are always prepared to break into an unexpected jam or hip-hop freestyle if the mood strikes. Available for house concerts, bar gigs, festivals and everything in between, they are always ready to party!

Doors at 9pm. $7. The Cambie Pub, 856 Esquimalt Rd.
