well seeing as no one has posted anything about this album yet, i feel i must
as well this is an awesome album that i suggest alot of people go and check out, it was only 7.99 as well?!! at futureshop so the price is right. Its kind of different from their last release, De-loused in the Commatorium, but i really love this album, and thats about all i have to say..

its good, not great. Takes a lot of life force to hear the whole thing, and with summer approaching you probably have fences that need mending and weeds that need some pulling... - Mon, 7 Mar 2005 1:20pm

Some of the latin influences were a little too latin for me, but i thought all in all it was a superb album. - Mon, 7 Mar 2005 6:03pm

This album is deloused and a bag of chips. I've been playing this thing since I got it, and I still keep hereing new kickass parts after 20 listens. Only complaint: they pulled a bit of a tool "Aenama" Amazing songs, but too much filler noise in between. 5 minutes of cricket noises? Common. it's cool that your cd is nearly 80 minutes long, but why not make it 60 minutes? I'm getting tired of hitting the skip button after I listen to te first 4 minutes of the 2nd song. - Mon, 7 Mar 2005 10:05pm

I think it's an amazing album and shouldn't be compared to de-loused. They're writing what they wanted to write, even if it's with more strange noise than ever, which is why they split with ATDI in the first place. I love the noise. I prefer the music of course, but I love the noise too. I just think they should be making albums more frequently to compensate for the smaller amount of real song material. That's ideal to me anyway, unlike tool, as KinChris stated, who use tonnes of filler and put our albums very rarely. The only song I don't like as much is the third one, L'Via I think, I also have a hard time digging that much latin, but I think on songs like Cygnus, where it's used but not as much, it makes for a much more enjoyable song to me.
All in all, great album - Tue, 8 Mar 2005 11:10am

it's like listening to the amp room at long and mcquade. omar is wankery.
but the drum production is off the map. jon theodore is so in the pocket, and should not be fucked with. rick rubin on the other hand...
i don't see whats wrong with latin, as it's a flavour that's all over the album. so it's cohesive. it's not just some track for street cred with all the chachos out there. again, it's good not fantastic. but then again, deloused was good. not fantastic. i think i liked the intro to it better though. - Wed, 9 Mar 2005 4:50pm

I'm not a big world music fan.... i guess i like my music to be north american.

"hah and i think Omar is from Puerto Rico so"
Ethnicly yeah, but i think all ATDI (and therefor more of sparta and Volta) are from El Paso Texas, i guess either way, its not mexico. - Wed, 9 Mar 2005 9:35pm

Alright, it's not the latin sound I have a problem with, I love it, I have a hard time getting into the spanish lyrics when there's a lot more of it is what I was fumbling to say. In Cygnus, that much spanish vocals are cool, but in L'Via L'Viaquez, I have a hard time with the big blocks of spanish lyrics. I think the production was killer though. - Thu, 10 Mar 2005 7:07pm

Me I don't speak a word of Spanish, and yet the Spanish song (L' Via l'Viaquez ) makes as much sense to me, lyrically, as any of the other songs this band has ever written. Or ATDI songs, fuck. There is _no way_ that Cedric doesn't write straight out of the dictionary. Words sound better that way; they're chosen for their sound rather than their meaning. Meaning is total BS.
Obviously somebody's going to post about how they read the background story and I'm wrong and the lyrics make sense if you put 2 and 2 together with the background story. NO THEY DON'T.
I wrote an entire other paragraph about people who would believe that, but I got so angry I started pushing everything off my desk so I think I'd better steer clear from it.
All in all, this album is sweet, but there are times when you have to be engaged in something else, or on acid to enjoy it. And if you've got some acid, hook it up. - Fri, 11 Mar 2005 12:00am

Call it "atmospheric" if you want... I call it "scary halloween noises".

I'm a little disappointed in the amount of "atmosphere" they've decided to put on this album. I prefer when they play their songs, instead of when they play with their rack gear and space echo.

A good album, but a little disappointing for myself.

More music, less "whoooosh wirrrrrrr meep meep meep arrrooooo woooooooosh".
