If you haven't discovered her yet, and ya love Country-blues/bluegrass, check out "Alison Krauss & Union Station", her first album. Also, her latest is called "New Favourite", and she remakes a couple of classics like "I Will", (Beatles), and "Baby, Now That I've Found You."
Alison is a world class fiddler, as well as possessing one of the sweetest female voices you will ever hear! I highly recommend Alison Kraus.
Of course, Nora Jones, the daughter of 60's world-reknown sitar player Ravi Shankar, is absolutely beautiful in looks and sound. She will grow on you, with her beautiful, sensual jazz/country/lounge style. Check her out!
Dwight Yoakum continues to be a favourite of most folks. Even those who hate country music, love him! There is something in his voice and manner and words and sound which touches one's emotions. Right on, Dwight.
Too bad the great Rod Stewart has lost his voice! He had surgery on his vocal chords last year, and his voice is damaged. He released an album of jazz and blues classics, but sorry Rod, it just doesn't work. should have quit while you were ahead!
Joni Mitchel recently received an honorary Doctorate of Music from McGill University in Montreal. She is a great Canadian talent, and much disserving of such recognition. Right on, Joni!
That's all for now, possums. Stay tuned for future album reviews and commentary, ....

What do you play? I've got a bluegass infused (5 string banjo) Irish/Eastcoast band on the go right now...possibly open to an addition, 2 guits and a banjo at the moment. - Thu, 16 Dec 2004 7:53pm
