it's a pretty good album for the most part. i only like a few songs on it though, some of them get pretty annoying. - Fri, 5 Nov 2004 10:48am

This is jew's best album yet. Sure bleed america has some awsome songs on it, but they get boring fast. And Clarity has never really grabbed my attention. I've already listened to Futures more than the previous two cd's. It's great. Although, the single is becoming pretty boring.

- i fucking hate singles!
great bands deserve their songs heard in the context of an entire album. If they're gonna get radio play, why not play a different track from their CD each time. Then no one would say "i hate the radio! all you hear are the same songs."

- by the way. I hate the radio! all you hear are the same songs. - Sun, 7 Nov 2004 12:44pm

If the radio played all or most of the songs from albums (as opposed to just the singles), no one would need to buy them. They could just tape the tunes off the radio. Plus they'd realize that most bands on the box have a shallow bag of tricks, eliminating the vast majority of radio airplay. This would adversely affect the good people who program or host radio, leading to no advertizing which, as we all know, would remove our ability to find out about the neato new iPod screensaver coming out next week at Radio Shack.

I'm being foolish, naturally. Hey, I never realized that the acronym of Jimmy Eats World was JEW. I now have a new joke. - Tue, 9 Nov 2004 4:01pm

I agree that most bands you hear on the radio have a shallow bag of tricks, but those bands will just not be played anymore. Instead good bands that put out solid albums will rise to the top.

As for recoding a full album from the radio? I doubt most people would bother trying. it's much easier to get them online. But if people did record songs off the radio and make albums? holly shit! the radio stations would love you. How could they not love someone who listenes to the radio 24/7 for 2 weeks just to record track 1 on monday, track 2 on tuseday, track 3 wednesday etc. And after they finally do get the album, they hear another band they like and repeat this process.

Either scenero is only gonna generate more listners listening more of the time, and that equals money in terms of advertising. - Tue, 9 Nov 2004 10:10pm

Clarity is my favorite album of theirs, mind you I've haven't heard much of Static Prevails. Clarity is easily on my top 5 albums of all time. - Wed, 10 Nov 2004 1:42am

Clarity is such a good album, Static Prevails was pretty good....there is such a huge change between those to albums and to where they are now. Futures is really good, picks up where Bleed America left off....still got the cheesy slow songs but it puts me in a good mood. anyone going to the show on the 7th? - Thu, 11 Nov 2004 10:21am

I was thinking about making the trip over, but after watching their performances on Conan and Letterman, I reconsidered. If I lived in Vancouver I'd probably go, but factoring in the ferry and hotel, it's just not worth it for me. - Thu, 11 Nov 2004 10:38am

I really didn't like Bleed American much at all. Futures has a lot of really well written songs, Kill and 23 are fantastic. I'm a huge fan of this album, as stated above, it's not as good as Clarity though. I wouldn't have thought to give this Jimmy Eat World CD my time if it weren't for Clarity showing me that they can be awesome. - Tue, 16 Nov 2004 10:32pm
