| Akylore User Info... | January 10th and 11th, at Dizzy's in Nanaimo!!!! The bands are, in the following order:......I don't fucking know; we need some!!!! HOWEVER, WE HAVE THE BAR BOOKED!!!!! Seasons of Sorrow, once believed to have become temporarily downset due to personal injuries suffered upon by one of the band members, has recently experienced a spiritual awakening leading to a second wind...meaning WE ARE PLAYING JANUARY 11TH!!! Another unknown band to me, recommended by our guitarist, is playing with us. However, we need to get a hold of WITHIN A VISION and MEATLOCKER SEVEN very badly to see if they would like to assist in upholding the cause. If anyone knows how to get a hold of them or if one of you is reading this very message e-mail me or post a message ASAP!!!!!!! We also need the local artillery of GROSS MISCONDUCT, get back to me!!!!! We have the room booked for a 2 day metal event, it is imperative that the aforementioned bands e-mail me or call me!!!!! As for GALLOWS END, it has become known to me that they may not be able to assist in this crusade due to a band member having to depart on an unexpected important expedition until January 20th, but depending on the importance of this venture, this may very well change. | Akylore User Info... | More updates....the butchery of MEATLOCKER7 sounds like it will be imminent in its metal dealings for this date, I'm just waiting for the final OK in the negotiation processes. GROSSMISCONDUCT is very devoted to the cause, their loyalty is unquestionable. WITHIN A VISION is to be getting back to me tomorrow..it sounds plausible, but we have to still see as of yet. I have just e-mailed MYOPIA to see if I could possibly arrange something with them as well, but they will have to get back to me. As I mentioned previously, a friend of the guitarist has a band that will be playing with us as well. And, of course, the candles and chalices of SEASONS OF SORROW will be raised. Friday January 10th: Rob & Morely's band (ex-NIBIRIU,) MEATLOCKER7, GROSS MISCONDUCT. Saturday January 11th: Ross Doan's band (Studio Mixer/Recorder of the epic SEASONS OF SORROW DEMO CD,) WITHIN A VISION, SEASONS OF SORROW. Last time we played Nanaimo we didn't see one poster as we drove through town. The turnout was less than cool (although the people that showed were very cool and we most appreciated their attendance). I realize it wasn't the same people involved in putting on the show. But I felt the need to state the obvious for my own peace of mind. 400 posters can make a world of difference when placed properly. | The Metal Malitia | I was at the show at Dizzy on Halloween. The crowd went crazy for Gross Misconduct and then half the crowd left before/during Seasons of Sorrow's set. | Wreaker of Havoc User Info... | Well I wouldnt say half left but...any one at the show must agree that Gross Misconduct was the band that whipped the crowd into the biggest feeding frenzy of the night. Adrian, I think what Steve was getting at is that they have been around long enough that they dont want to rely on another local band's draw if they can help it. Its not an ego thing, its just they have worked very hard for years to build up thier own draw. Their concern is that Meatlocker fans wont come to a show they dont know about. It is always a downer to play a show and not have the crowd that should be there due to lack of promo. I've seen it too much. All this anonymous slagging is unnecessary. | Rob Halford | Gallows End is my favorite band now actually. I lOVE those guys, literally! I love their singer, he can almost hit the same notes as me. We hang out alot. Me and the singer that is. I fly him out to my mansion, and sometimes we go camping. Why do you think he can scream so well? Its because I taught him how to Scream, boy Scream! back in '84 when we first met. I wrote Eat Me Alive thinking about those sessions together, alone, in my mansion. I've never had problems with bottles or rednecks at shows, Generally I dont think people bother going to metal shows unless they like metal, therefore... If you're playing, it's most likely to an appreciative crowd. Also, The venue itself is pretty safe, I've never even had problems when we play the cambie. Anyways, What i'm trying to say is this.
