We sponsored this show, but there wasn't much I could do with all the missing band & venue info, so was a little concerned about turnout. But given that near none of the other sponsors were expected to do anything or even show up apparently, plus the heat, a pretty good turnout rather than a packed room is probably nothing to feel too badly about.

It was a brilliant show, how could it not be with those bands? It was a showcase of our best.

Chapel were killer, love that vocalist. Hesher's footwork was blowing minds apparently. I remember back when he was great but you could see him all careful & concentrating, and the last couple years he's been nothing but in the zone, a f'n powerhouse.

And how exciting was that to see The Joint Chiefs back? It bugged me when they got all serious & grindy for a while there a few years back - I mean just cuz you CAN do it doesn't mean you should. They all know I feel that way and I'm stoked they're back showing us why they're THE BEST at what they do. Denton was all over that floor with the green meanie. He started with another guitar, so phew, was a little worried he wouldn't be pulling that guy out!
Golers & Zuckuss were smokin as usual. I however, was too tired from too many shows, 3am bedtimes, early mornings and too much work. Also had to go back & forth all night from 340 which just got started again. Thanks to everyone for excusing my sunken eyes & pissy attitude. So tired it seemed like I couldn't even hear the bands right, and had to bail before my favorite band even finished. :(
Gotta be in shape for a metal show and I sucked. Never even wished that gorgeous SELEIGNE a proper HAPPY BIRTHDAY!

Anyway, killer lineup which made me miss early cobalt days with all those guys messing around to no one but Blackie & Norm and a couple stragglers like me at tuesday open-jam nights. sniff.

It was a benefit, so good to see some old school diehards out braving the heat for the wendy's hellhole... crazy joe, jason burden (now playing with ROSS B AY - is that right? didn't know they let you guys off the island!), first day brett, and whole lot of others I was probably too exhausted to notice and too tired right now to remember.

reviewed this 10x & still messing up. now giving up. end. - Sun, 15 Aug 2010 5:16pm Edited: Sun, 15 Aug 2010 5:37pm

Well, this is why I asked. JB said he'd started a new band (no name yet - a no-stress type project) which includes a guy named Zach from Vic, said he was a seasoned bass player etc.. I don't know RB except from this board, but I thought I'd heard his name was Zac? Maybe I'm thoroughly confused. If true I think its awesome they hooked up. - Sun, 15 Aug 2010 6:13pm Edited: Sun, 15 Aug 2010 6:14pm

Sati RE: Ross B ay.

Hi Sati! Yup, for those who care, Zak (Ex-Self Inflicted), and I along with Dom (ex-Pipebomb, Myopia, Rise Over Ruin etc...) Have a new band. It's heavy, fast and reminds me of Terror meets S.O.D. so far. We have 4 new songs and 4 covers, and are playing our first show, NO actually party in Mission on October 30. Halloween party. Hope to do some recording before we play an actual show/ Word. Jason - Sat, 25 Sep 2010 11:38pm
