What an AWESOME show! Didn't like Animals as Leaders at all - good band but didn't belong on SSlaughter, and I missed All Shall Perish cuz my friend hates them so we got real food which kept me going all night. Rickshaw's awesome for that - besides Hons, there's a good chinese bakery, and even a Waves a block over in Chinatown. We love Waves, and the one downtown is our newest a/ages space!

MY favorites were CEPHALIC CARNAGE (holy crap, reminded me of how happy I was seeing Carcass at times), and Decrepit Birth! Total respect to Vital Remains too, for riling up the crowd and playing a pretty damn good opening set in spite of TWO members (bass & vox) not making it across again. Carnifex couldn't make it, would've been nice to be told ahead of time when they found out.
Anyway, all the bands were excellent players, what a feast or what!

Wicked show, wicked crowd & decent pits. Most of my friends & favorites made it out and got stacks of cool merch. One of them made it on stage for a cd, stood there banging for too long & got thrown off for not jumping, haha! Didn't see anyone else make it up though, so I call b.s.!

That night ruled. Ended up at FunkyWB for the end of Wendy's Black Wizard/Skullfist/Stryker/Twisted show.

See you tonight for Destroyer 666. EVERYONE OUT - independent metal promoters Invisible Orange' show, means you or someone you've sent's gotta be out for it!

Terrible sound in that venue, I thought Veil of Maya were pretty damn good too. - Sun, 22 Aug 2010 5:36pm

I think its tough in there with the concrete walls, and fluctuating numbers of bodies. I've heard it really great in there to... hurting. Also depends on the type of music.

I got kind of lost with all those bands, but I remember asking around to find out who VoM were... couldn't remember whether it was because I was into them or what, ha! I think I was but didn't really didn't care much after CC ruled that hard.

I really wish some of those bands would just stfu between songs though, really not a fan of fist pumping and how you doin vancouver crap. Really makes me lean to hate no matter what they sound like. But I guess they brought a lot of kids out.

Destroyer 666 were really something. A lot of people left for Enthroned, but I thought they were pretty good - paled in comparison, but still. Kinda hated Pathology, totally predictable & boring and not at all bent like I was hoping, what is that?? - Tue, 24 Aug 2010 11:16am Edited: Tue, 24 Aug 2010 11:21am
