They make them recite slogans and shit all day long, whilst running through barbaric obstacle courses...all the while having guns shot off right next to them to desentitize them from the fear of being shot. The islamic militia are perhaps doing a better job than any other army. Fear is what keeps offensive armys weak. A foe who has no fear of death is likely to succeed in the long-run. Its a sad truth that human rights is not an important concept if you are trying to win a war. Should all this bullshit become a full-blown religious world war, the west is fucking doomed. North Americans do not hold strong enough convictions about their own religions to be strong enough to die for it; And to die for it with joy. Hostage situations are one of the few ways that militants can get some press in this world controlled by corporations and governments. I happen to enjoy the notion of human rights, and I defend it when I can. The touchy-feely concept only works however in a life like we enjoy here on the west coast with relatively stable financial/political situations. Many areas of the world have none of those luxuries. The entire militant-islamic uprising has nothing to lose and everything to gain. From an ideology of war perspective, this makes them almost invinceable. Only a complete moron blinded by the wages one can make over there would stay and put themselves in danger, as well as the pain they've inflicted on their familes due to their deaths, all for the might dollar. And people call the extremist muslims messed up... As for all this crap concerning standing up for human rights? No culture has the right to attempt to force their morals on another regardless of what that culture does. Whether that be countries at war with each other or torture and murder. What's normal and just in one culture isn't acceptable to another. That's the way it is and the way it should be.
