I should probably clarify for any metalheads out there who've seen the poster, so as to avoid angry "I want my money back" situations. Although on the poster it says "hardcore and metal", made to appeal to those who have an interest in both, there are technically no "true" metal bands playing this show, with the exception of the Cloak, who true to form, include imagery relating to wizards, giant worms, the end of the world and so on. The other bands are in fact hardcore/punk with metal influence. I guess Self Inflicted has a lot of crossover appeal. But War By Other Means is just straight up hardcore, no metal quotient.
Though you can still headbang to any of these guys and doing so is encouraged, along with any other form of dancefloor movement.
This has been a public service announcement by ME. - Sun, 20 Jun 2004 12:49pm

Just kidding. I'll be there none the less. Heard good things about the cloak and I'm always willing to support Self Inflicted. - Sun, 20 Jun 2004 5:27pm

Who am I kidding? A Taste For Blood might as well be metal. Judge for yourself: http://www.hxcmp3.com/bands/55/
Whatever gets the kids moving is all I care about. Well, so long as they don't destroy the venue. - Tue, 22 Jun 2004 7:20am

dont listen to brian. the second you start thinking ATFB is metal you've lost all touch with the music scene and it's genres, sub genres, and subsubs.

and as for the officially sanctioned dancefloor movement, the cloak requests that there be no moshing (in the hardcore ninja fighting way or the punk rock pushing and punching each other way). if you wish to show your enthusiasm through movement you can:

A) raise your right and in the air and wiggle your fingers around like a guitarplayer / wizard
B) bite the heads off mice.

your full co-operation is appriciated. if you do not choose to co-operate, we may be forced to leave the province for a month. - Tue, 22 Jun 2004 12:32pm

But HOLY FUCK, A Taste For Blood last night in Van were awesome. Super intense, tight, and heavy as hell. Tomorrow is going to kick ass, since everyone knows Vic shows are better...yuk yuk... - Sat, 26 Jun 2004 6:04pm

Oh and if any of you are into Cold As Life, ATFB does a cover of them.
And make sure to buy one of everything these guys have, they had to cancel a bunch of shows crossing Canada so they need all the support they can get!!! - Sun, 27 Jun 2004 9:22am
