I thought it was cool.

KD Lang was my favorite, but Ashley MacIsaac punked out quite well, and Sarah McLachlan was world class.
Cheers to Nelly, the French dude, and that opera singer.
Loved the First Nations representation, even though it was funny to me that the four Cheifs were late.

The Killer whales impressed me too, and the Alberta Ballet
I also really liked the giant drum session, and the chick that sang "OH Canada". The poet guy was cool too.

I have 2 friends that were performers in the opening ceremonies, and everybody but K.D. and the french dude at the end were lip synching, including the opera singer.

Disappointing a little, but didn't really bring me down. The ceremony was amazing. My friends said in the last 2 weeks they did more than 50 hours of rehearsals. 5 or 6 10-12 hour days. - Sun, 14 Feb 2010 8:19pm Edited: Sun, 14 Feb 2010 8:20pm

Yeah I noticed that one right away too....really, why bother.
Go Live or Go Home.

Same for the Opera (cat on a chainsaw) singer....
The commentator called it a "haunting" rendition. You got that right...I'll be having nightmares about that noise for years...

The stage tech work like the whales & northern lights, and the way everything was mechanically technically worked out was pure genius.

Too bad about the one hydraulic glitch with the caldron lighting, but as they say in Iraq..."Shiite happens!" - Mon, 15 Feb 2010 8:22am Edited: Mon, 15 Feb 2010 8:32am

I was surprised to see Rob Schneider in a pirate shirt singing his balls off. - Thu, 18 Feb 2010 10:10am
