I am posting this as to see if I am doing something wrong, cuz I have put this out to about 200 places and never get any response. Is there something wrong with it or is there just too many people going for the same job?
here it is.

Objective Graeme McKenzie
To be part of a positive and engaging company D.O.B. Nov./07/1970
Experience
2006-2008 Honeywell Electronic Materials
Machine Technician
Fabrication and orientation of sapphire rods
using a variety of automated and non-automated machine equipment such as diameter lathe and flat surface milling machines.

2008-2009 Silian Saphhire Corporation
Machine Technician
Polishing of sapphire wafers using a Computer controlled wafer fine polish machine.Enter dimensions of wafers into computer using micrometer, loading of wafers onto carriers, load and program machines.Use of thermal laser thermometer to ensure the machine is running at right temperature.Unloading of machines.Drying and rinsing of wafers using robotic lab cleaning station in clean room.clean room.

Electroshine Metal Finishers Ltd
Polishing Machine Operator

Metal Finishers Ltd.
Oct.2002 to JAN.2006

Polishing Machine Operator
1, Duties : Operate or tend to multi-purpose machines including heavy duty
upright single speed (2000 RPM on shaft), single Motor Polishing Machine.
This machine can be used with any polishing wheel, flap wheel, scotch brite
wheels or buffs.Fit and assemble components using hand and power
tools.Clean, polish, file or otherwise finish products.Check products for quality
and other specifications.May clean and lubricate machine.
2, Achievements:Lathe polishing is used when the part is small enough for an
operator to hold the item and move it against a buffing wheel mounted on a
stationary machine. Various polishing compounds are used to buff the item to
the required finish. Lathe polishing allows great flexibility...the part being buffed
can be rotated or otherwise positioned by the skilled worker. Small incremental
movements plus the fact that the operator can always see the part allow great
control and consistent results. Use of the proper polishing media can impart
brushed/matte finish, a mirror finish or anything in between. Since the only setup
required for lathe polishing is for the craftsman to pick up another part, many
items can be finished in a relatively short period of time.
3, Achievements: Blasting cabinets range from small tabletop units to larger
units that can accommodate an entire hood or car door. These cabinets are not
only sealed, but also equipped with a vacuum function to keep dust particles
from being released into the air# Depending on the type of removal to be done,
one of three different materials will be used in the blasting cabinet: -
Aluminum oxide is used for removing paint from metal components that will be
repainted, since it removes all surface material and reveals the bare metal . -
Glass beads are used on aluminum components that need to be cleaned up
but not necessarily repainted; the beads seal the surface and create a nice
satin finish. - For Fiberglass components, plastic powder is used to remove
old paint, but is gentle enough to prevent damaging the gel-coat base of the
material.
4, Achievements :Air Die Grinder is used to remove surface material and to
achieve a smooth finish in small places ,this takes skill and flexibility.

Turns out there's this thing called a recession going on. I just found out about it myself. Looks like lots of people got laid off because companies aren't making enough money or something? I dunno, guess that inflates the job applicants at the few places that are actually hiring. - Tue, 15 Dec 2009 1:51pm

Concision is the best recipe for success. Try not to be so length in your descriptions and get straight to the point. Employers are often swamped with resumes and only have so much time to look over them. I do my more in point form with short descriptions, making it quick and easy for the employer. - Tue, 15 Dec 2009 3:44pm

As a hiring manager I only look at one page resumes. Also I noticed you have yourself as your objective. - Tue, 15 Dec 2009 3:57pm

^^Dito about the "yourself" as an objective^^ Also, don't put your DOB on there.

What type of jobs are you applying for?

-Under "Polishing Machine Operator " you have bullet points (1,2,3) but that start out as "duties" then move to acheivements? I wouldn't classify "Air Die Grinder is used to remove surface material and to achieve a smooth finish in small places ,this takes skill and flexibility." as an achievment. More a description of duties.
-You need to go to the employment office and get some help with your resume. Also, you need to either get or list more certificates of some sort.
-Start volunteering right now so there isn't a large Unemployment gap in your resume.

basically it needs help in a big way bro. Cheers, Lucius - Tue, 15 Dec 2009 4:58pm

Ok ,sounds good ...Thank you Black pixie....You see ...this site still helps people out.I did not kill this site. There is still some people on here that can help others out.I could have put more into my resume but I am not very good with words,or should I say the use of them.I would just like to show my technical transferable knowledge and I guess like you said not go on and on about the ins and outs ,but just the general related skills. To the point.

Oh and the reason why it says all that stuff like me as an objective is cuz i cut and paste that shit and it comes out all funny on here.Cuz I cut it from a resume template. - Tue, 15 Dec 2009 6:03pm Edited: Tue, 15 Dec 2009 6:05pm

Try putting a space after your periods & a space AFTER your commas, not BEFORE them. They also probably don't care that you have advanced first ad, but if you had advanced first AID, then that would be an asset. Also, put your most recent work first. - Tue, 15 Dec 2009 9:13pm Edited: Tue, 15 Dec 2009 9:14pm

i dont like to have references on my resume because you could think they are available when their not, or their contact info could change, or their opinion of you could change, then you gotta reprint and resend. Also, I agree, make it more concise, and lie if you have to. Seriously, lie. For 5 years of my employment I was a "High school grad in French Immersion Program" totally untrue, didn't get my dogwood until age 23, and not in French, but it makes you sound smart, I also had Foodsafe, and First Aid 1, Serving it Right, and a Forklift Ticket (all bullshit) and it was never checked by any of the employees that required it to be an applicant. Also, stretching out employment times helps fill gaps. It sucks, lying, but its a means to an end. Also, call, show up, bug the shit out of them until they give you an interview, its all about the interview anyway. More people judge you based on their first impression, not a piece of paper that probably has a bunch of lies on it. ;)

As far as job options, Building maintenance is always hiring, people gotta use buildings to live, eat, play. That's what I do, it pays ok, not great, but ok. Usually 19-26$/hr. Better than any factory or kitchen job I ever had. - Wed, 16 Dec 2009 10:16pm

The "fixed" version of the resume should've listed the most current work experience first! The way it is now, at first glance, it appears Graeme hasn't worked since 2008. Also, "first aide" is still wrong! There's no "e" at the end. Maybe in France, but not here in paradise. - Thu, 17 Dec 2009 7:38am

You should always confirm that your references are going to be there and be positive by asking them to do you the honor.
You don't put references on, it looks like you are trying to hide your past. - Thu, 17 Dec 2009 12:35pm

exactly - if I was an employer and didn't see references, I'd be like, "hmmm....sketchy". Obviously they need to kept updated and in good standing, which kinda goes without saying, though. - Thu, 17 Dec 2009 1:47pm

Another tip - you probably don't want to rely on someone who spells "add" as "ad" or capitalizes the word "resume" in this posted example:
"I fixed his Resume boys and girls. But he does need to ad references."

That so-called fixed version is still horribly full of mistakes. - Thu, 17 Dec 2009 2:40pm

Grim- Spelling errors show a lack of attention to detail. At my work, resumes with spelling errors go right in the garbage. Also, I agree with Fableway about the lying (though it pains me to do so...) Make yourself seem better than you are on paper and get an interview- that is where you will or will not get hired. Suck a cock on the spelling issues. I like to take a break from being so damn meticulous all the fucking time. I get enough profs barking up my ass, and am really touchy about the issue of spelling (as you can see).

While writing an essay and editing two, I took a leisure break and gave grim a more coherent version of his resume to work with

Now I'm going to go write another exam, fuck you all :) - Fri, 18 Dec 2009 6:17pm

Indeed, resumes require premium spelling and grammar.
To work for a cab company, one needs a license and chief operator permit. To be a dispatcher, one needs a voice.

Also - if said manager/supervisor/interviewer is female (AND HOT) it wouldn't hurt to spray a little Axe cologne or after shave on your resume. Better yet if you can pilfer your dad's cabinet for some Hai Karate, English Leather, Aqua Velva, or, the best: Brut. - Sat, 19 Dec 2009 9:36pm

And while I'm on a roll here (hey - whatever I can do to help, glad to oblige) is when you shake their hand, just fuckin reef on it so you feel their delicate little hand bones squishing and rolling and shifting around in your (hopefully) vice-like grip. Employers like "taking charge" people. And the complete opposite is equally effective too: just b-a-r-e-l-y shaking their hand, almost limp-wristed, as if to say, "what? me? difficult? stepping on toes? confrontational? bah! pshaw!" - Sun, 20 Dec 2009 9:23am
