Being a band that created at least a few of my fave tunes of the 90's in that genre, was definately fairly stoked to see STP do an arena show in Victoria, albeit 15-20 years later. My girl and I arrived without tickets just before 8:30 and upon being told STP had started already decided we didnt mind sitting at the back and payed about 66 bux for the pair, early show go figure. Now, as has happened before there was still a substantial lineup waiting at the main front entrances even though the headliners are on stage. Beautiful thing, we walked around to the back of the arena, no line, walked right in, security didnt lay a finger on us and being as it was raining quite lamely out, not waiting out front was key to a good night. Other than that there was no encore it was a solid set, enjoyed the show, good sound, performance, visuals, decent turnout. - Sun, 8 Nov 2009 3:05am Edited: Sun, 8 Nov 2009 3:12am

There was an encore. It took place when they came back on the stage for a second time after they had finished their set.
The opening band was some mediocre, generic Coldplay/U2 regurge from Vancouver. While it's cool that STP are giving local unknowns a shot, it was also obvious they wanted to be sure they would not be upstaged in the least.
I enjoyed the show. Well, the music was good. There wasn't a whole lot of show except for lights and a screen playing unrelated footage behind them. - Sun, 8 Nov 2009 7:01am

Indeed, upon further and closer review and with some consultation with the gf and another friend who was there weve determined that Sarah and I did in fact leave our seats to use the washrooms and then we walked from the back to the front on the ring to have a listen and get some better pics thereby missing the interlude prior to the encore songs at which time we were back inside to enjoy. Actually we werent even there, no, Sour Girl, Dead and Bloated and Wicked Garden a few faves of the night. - Sun, 8 Nov 2009 7:19pm
