_Griphin_ User Info... | When I was down at Lyle's Place today I ran across the new CD from AK-47, it cost me about $10.00 before taxation. Not a bad release, and the CD even looks professional, and runs for a total of 16:21. Worth buying, I give it a thumbs UP!!! On a side note, this CD sounds much better then Free Palestine, I don't get that CD, it sounded too bassy to me. Support your local talent!!! BTW: What is the CD called?!? There's one title on the CD cover, and another title on the reverse CD spine. - Mon, 8 Aug 2005 3:50pm
Rawb User Info... | Hey _Griphin_, First off thanks a lot for buying our new CD--We put a lot of time, effort and money into this project to try and make it something we're proud of. I agree that it sounds a lot better than "free Palestine" which I dislike pretty intensely due to the final sound on that record. (A lot of that balme lies with me, I'm afraid..) The name of the record is "The Fucking Enemy" after a line from the song "Serve Protect And Murder"-- "Once thought of for safety, now the fucking enemy." Which is in reference to the police. I put the other line (rebel sounds of shattered faith--a line from "Every Fucking Note") on the spine just as a fun detail thing. Again, thanks for your support. I hope the album grows on you the more you listen to it. - Mon, 8 Aug 2005 11:54pm
Zippgunn User Info... | Wow, Comrade Goluza gave me a copy last night and I agree; it does sound better than the previous one (which I recorded!). Like all AK releases it could heve used a mastering polish; some songs die a little after other songs because they are a tenth of a db quieter and I disagree with some of the brutally hard edits. But it's the best AK CD yet, IMO. - Tue, 9 Aug 2005 12:29pm
_Griphin_ User Info... | I'm wondering if the stickers that were put on Free Palestine could of screwed up the sound of the CD, they mention not to do that cause it throws the balance of the CD off. - Tue, 9 Aug 2005 5:32pm

Rawb User Info... | Scotty! Hey man, I spent actual cash money on mastering--At Suite Sound labs in Vancoouver with jamie Sitar. This guy was incredible and abolute wizard at his job and eventhough he spent a lot of extra time on the stuff he only charged the estimate. (Then I kicked in a bit extra cuz he's so cool) I know the db problem you are talking about--It only happens once in my opinion. Second song. I think it's minor but I notice it. As for the edits--I wanted the album to assault you. Relentless. I think the edits help achieve that goal. The stickers on Free Palestine have nothing to do with the bad sound--belive me. I've listened to the master mixdown enough to know the suckage started before the cover was even desinged. Some people love that album though so I don't want t to deride it too much... I'm stoked that everyone seems to be liking this record. I think Goluza really kicked it up a notch songwriting-wise and we just seem to be getting more pissed off as we get older. And FASTER. I like it a lot. One of out new songs clocks in at 6 seconds when we play it as fast as possible-- And this has a verse and repeated chorus! Thanks again to you three. :) - Wed, 10 Aug 2005 8:38am
lonemonk User Info... | I guess I'm the only one that prefers Free Palestine overall. However, sweet packaging this time around and great playing as usual. I rather like short CDs as well, so it fits in fine. There's a couple of typos in the liner, but I'm anal that way. I'm so glad AK continues to make music. Hey that reminds me, where the hell is that split with the 'other' AK-47 bunch? I'm dying to hear that shit... - Thu, 18 Aug 2005 1:45pm
_Griphin_ User Info... | Free Palestine must be an acquired taste. I'm wondering if the band ever plans to re-release the tape demos they did? However, Hudson Mack - Every Day is a great album. We need some... - Thu, 18 Aug 2005 2:11pm
Mandroid User Info... | I got this CD at the last AK show at Big Fernwood. Totally fucking killer. Great CD all the way through, with Every Fucking Note making a nice change as the closer. Easily worth the $10, even at 16 minutes running time. The songs manage to cram in a whole lot of lyrics for their mostly 30-second run times. Of course AK is at their best live, but that should go without saying. Final word: go get it. - Fri, 19 Aug 2005 2:15pm
