Really out there. But at the same time really focussed. If ya know what I mean. Despite everyones distaste for Nothing, I enjoyed that album. It was different, not just a clone of DEI or Choasphere. I makes a great contributation to the Meshuggah discography, basically blending everything they've done into one long track which is, i think their best material to date. - Wed, 19 Jan 2005 11:20pm

Here, let me wreck the song for you...

00:00 - 01:39 one note played morse code style...under a tom rolling thing
pause
01:40 - 01:59 1 tremolo picked palm muted chord (+ more) under crash blast beats and an AHHHHHHHH!
pause
02:00 - 03:02 verse: 1 chord (changes at 2:39 to another 1 chord), palm muted played randomly under a 2 beat
03:02 - 03:33 same riff as before but a different chord..still a 2 beat...under an harmonic minor delayed leady thing
03:33 - 04:31 palm-mutey randomy riff that the drums follow (lead comes in at 04:06...single trem picked note that changes every "bar")
04:44 - 05:03 verse: similar riff and drums to previous, no lead
05:06 - 05:46 very low note random pm note under a tom thing....that has pauses at the end of every 4 "bars"...vocals come in at 05:20)
05:46 - 06:21 "solo"...medium speed (black metal..) blast beats...under a spaztic random tapping lead...under one note tremolo picked/palm muted (changes every once and a while) (VERY BRUTAL)
06:21 - 06:54 verse...still medium blasts. same trem/palm mute riff, but it cuts in and out (kick follows guitar)
06:54 - 07:11 straight trem picked palm muted one note under the same medium blast drums (though out of time signiture now)
07:11 - 07:57 verse: BRUTAL death metal riff (very low and high notes\m/) still with the blasts (vocals leave at 7:33)

interlude..one lone guitar, plucking the string above the nut...sounds like a creepy out of tune music box

08:50 - 09:56 on and off tripletly riff of 2 distant notes, drums follow guitar...lead kicks in at 9:19 (one note tremolo picked)
09:56 - 10:33 verse: same thing as before, but lead out and vocals in
10:33 11:04 MOSH PIT SLAM DANCE RIFF!...palm muted triplets alternating to a 4 beat
11:04 - 11:41 verse: same thing, but with vocals
11:41 - 12:00 same thing...but vocals out and lead in (a "slipknoty" kinda lead...**)
chord rings out
12:08 - 12:42 "bridge", not very intense, whispered vocals, one chord randomly palm muted, drums follow
chord rings out
12:46 - 13:21 same riff and drums as before, but no vocals, and sick lead/solo part (really bent notes)
13:21 verse: a sort of 5 riff, notes going up chromatically...drums are a slow "5" beat?...(lead part over top, of trem picked single notes)
14:14 - 14:51 4 DUMs*.....spaced far apart

interlude 2..lone guitar playing ringing out notes across all strings, some effects in background

volume swell...
16:15 - 17:13 same thing as interlude but drums and other guitar accent beats.....turns into a DUM*..DUM*.. DUM*..........thing
17:13 - 18:04 fucked up typical messugah riff ala nothing..drums follow guitar...lead comes in at 17:30 (slipknoty** again)
18:04 - 18:36 verse..still pretty un-intense, lead goes away, similar drums and guitar (meaning random and fucked)
18:36 - 18:57 verse still...even less intense and more random., drums more steady
18:57 - 20:30 same as 17:13, but with quater note stops
20:30 lead dies out. then at 20:33......just feedback..

feedback until the end......

* DUM means, crash, snare and kick all hit once and ring out, along with one chord hit from the guitars

** by slipknoty, i mean a minor second (2 notes next to eachother) 2 note chord, w/ delay

It was the mystical window of time known as 11 to 12 pm.
As far as my motives, i like this song and felt like being an ass about it.
