Actually, it's a pretty decent mix of styles. Here's some rough descriptions of the bands (appearing not necessarily in this order):

Woolly Mammoth - alt rock - search for them at http://www.newmusiccanada.com

Hank Pine and Lily Fawn (of the Whelps)- weird country/pop - they usually play with David P. Smith, master of the hardcordian.
Immaculate Machine - rock/pop - drums, keyboard, guitar. All 3 of them sing. They have a CD out called "the view".

Children of Celebrities - roots country/bluegrass/folk (not to sure what they'd describe themselves as, but they rule.

Gashly Crumb - heavy rock. Fuzzy guitar, loud thick bass. Doesn't come across that great here but: http://www.brandxmedia.org/mp3s/Gashley_crumb_-_Anti-conceivable.MP3
Self Inflicted - Metal/Hardcore, along the lines of Chaos AD era Sepultura http://www.bozobits.com/selfinflicted/media/mp3/crimescene.mp3

And there's no real explaination for Steve Lang...

Or a little personal research...

Woolly Mammoth (Pre-historic) whatever that means!
Gashly Crumb (Good Loud Heavy Fuzzy Rock) Has an audio sample
Self Inflicted (Hardcore/Metal) http://www.bozobits.com/selfinflicted/

All this was taken by searching for the bands using the Musicians search feature on this site. Check it out! - Thu, 15 May 2003 5:16pm
Joe Slave I've heard a few of these guys before (except Woolly Mammoth & Self Inflicted)

Hank Pine and Lily Fawn (of the Whelps):
I know Hank plays the cello, and I think Lily Fawn plays the musical saw but i'm not totally sure)

Immaculate Machine:
alt. folk? I guess that's one way you could describe them

Children of Celebrities:
Crazy Old Men with tiny guitars. They were one of the coolest acts at the Tom Waits tribute.

Gashly Crumb
Dylan Davis (ex. Maitreya) with a kick ass band backing him up. I saw them play with Smoked Out Brainzz. They were great.

That's all I know.
and yes, I'll be there. - Thu, 15 May 2003 5:20pm

Wow great line up!... but why is Bong not on this bill?
We hate rocktoria more than those bands do...!
Oh well, as long is everyone is hating rocktoria together I'm on board...perhaps Bong could support our hatred of the Q and all it's evil incarnations at next years show!!
See ya there! - Tue, 20 May 2003 11:21am

Perhaps the anti-rocktoria theme can go on multiple times in the year. The only way to show our widespread disapproval of the lame-ass music the Q supports is to constantly have bands rocking against ED BAIN and his terrible radio show.

Anti-rocktoria should be on 4 times a year.

Could start putting out Death-to-Rocktoria cd compolations - Tue, 20 May 2003 11:36am

If this goes okay I could definitely see doing it again. We couldn't get everyone we wanted on the bill as there were time restraints, and lots of good bands were into it. - Tue, 20 May 2003 1:15pm
