Fan Tan Booze Can Revue is coming to Studio 16 1/2: MD Wren & the Sick Kids are bringing over their indie rock wild side friends, beekeeper, from Vancouver to take over Fan Tan Alley!! Pay for a show like you're in Ontario but without the winter!! $5 at the door! You can't beat that for these two bands. Familiar to Victoria crowds, MD Wren & the Sick Kids is music to drink, fuck and fight to. Drawing upon his uncanny ability to offend and disturb those around him with his ignorant diatribes, MD Wren has assembled some of the best country and western playas in Victoria, steeped them in the traditions of punk and shitty rock, placed them into a microwave on high and mutated them into what is now known as THE SICK KIDS. Come out and watch them stagger from the bar to the stage and assault your heart with such songs as: Get down on it ( Cuz This Dick Won't Suck Itself) She Was Bread In Ol' Kentucky (But She's Just a Crumb Up Here) You Brought a Knife to a Gunfight Your Money or Your Wife it's beekeeper's DEBUT SHOW IN VICTORIA!! beekeeper is built around a three-piece core that consists of comedian Devon Lougheed, protein synthesist Luke Cyca, and gin aficionado, Terri Upton, but you never know who else will join us on stage. Although we are a relatively new musical incarnation, our members have shared the stage with acts as diverse as Carolyn Mark, La Roux, Woodhands, Dragonette, Cuff the Duke, and Keys N Krates. Coming in hot after opening for Menomena the night before, beekeeper will be wound up and ready to go!! Their live show is quirky, unpredictable and musically satisfying.
