| _Griphin_ User Info... | Unfortunately I missed most of the show (wasn't planning on going, but I was curious to see who showed up), I even tried buying tix, but it was a no go. The reason I got to see the band? Bouncer let me in near the end of the show. So I caught a few tunes, and then I yelled for an encore (one of the few who did) and they played 4 songs including a tune from "The Bleeding". | Hagberg User Info... | Does anyone know what Corpsegrinder was complaining about after every Cannibal Corpse song? Regardless, Cannibal Corpse were punishing to say the least. That show was probably the best metal show Victoria has ever seen. The turn out was incredible, and everyone was insane. I was so impressed with that show last night- bands(obviously), turnout, and venue!!! What an INSANE pit/crowd surfing. ML7-Way to go mother fuckers!!!! Opening for the CORPSE!!! And a really enjoyable (albeit short) set. Severed- Possibly the best band of the night. Brutal as fuck and just so damn relentless. It's a treat to see real brutal DM the way it should be done. I feel honoured to have seen a Unique Leader artist in my home town!!! BDM- AWESOME!! Every song of off the album!!! And every one executed with perfect precision. What did it for me was the fact that their vocalist had the Necrotism tools tattooed on his arm!! So much energy, obvious to see why these guys share a label with CC. CC- ALWAYS GOOD!! ALWAYS. Dispite George becoming enraged about his shitty monitors they were INCREDIBLE. They played a song from every single album. And a big horns up to fucking Jeremy Turner (new second guitarist) for learning all that shit in 3 weeks SOLOS AND ALL!!!! Well considering that he used to play in Origin I'm sure he can handle it. Overall Pit Full of Zombies was my favourite song and the bass solo from They Deserve to Die!!!!!!! More than honoured to see these guys in Victoria. A big thank you to Atomique productions!! The pit was fuckin' awesome, though I got blead all over, suspose that might be a good thing as I now have a blood stained wife-beater for memorabilia! Never been in sugar before, but the venue was fucking awesome and they better keep on booking metal in there! Best venue in town IMO! | ML7Mike User Info... | Once again a big touring band plays their craziest show west of TO and its in Victoria.. Seems to happen alot when bands get here.. LEts hope word gets back to those that matter and we get more shows like this in the future! Cannibal ripped it up, I cant move my neck tho.. Black Dahlia were fuckin killer, very tight and a great drummer, alot of cool rythms. Severed Saviour were insane, intense and I love the blast beats! Hagberg asks what George was complaining about all the time.. The sound.. Every band had HORRIBLE stage sound. And every band had good sound during soundcheck, but as soon as the set kicked in, nothing.. each band tried to get the monitors turned up but it didnt help. not sure what the problem was there, but we played blind ONCE AGAIN , you'd think we'd get used to it! The touring bands are super tight anyways from touring so playing blind isnt as big a problemm.. | Akylore User Info... | This show was EASILY the best metal show in Victoria that I've ever attended. Everybody has pretty much said what I could say, but I will say this: In the 12 years that I've listened to Cannibal Corpse, I've NEVER seen them, so hearing them close out with "Hammer Smashed Face" brought me a lot of joy! :) They absolutely CRUSHED live, so good! And Severed Saviour! Fuck those guys were tight! But shit, like Mutilishawn said, if it's off Unique Leader (Deeds of Flesh, Agiel, Gorgasm, etc.) it's gotta be great!!! | Death Scream Bloody Gore User Info... | I was front and center for the whole show and that was the most insane moshpit I have been in since GWAR last played in Van. It was really impressive to see such a great turnout and this will hopefully bring more metal bands to Vic for shows. I was also incredibly impressed with Severed Saviour, their quality of performance was definitely on par with Cannibal Corpse. When this show was first being promoted I was led to believe that Decapitated were going to play (it was severely disappointing to hear they weren't), but Severed Saviour were a more than adequate replacement. Overall this show was pure destructive adrenaline and to see something like this in Victoria is great, and I hope we will continue to see bigger shows like this coming here. \m/ - Wed, 21 Jul 2004 5:43pm | ||

Wacky! And their drummer - holy shite. I think a bylaw should be passed preventing 'metal enthusiasts' from wearing wedding dresses at gigs, though. The singer and drummer of BDM looked like they used to be in Hemdale. | Dr.DoomXXX User Info... | A few hours before the show I bumped into Corpse Grinder in curious comics ( he was buying some toys ) and he told me that Severed Savior was going to be some serious ripping shit and when they got up on stage the amount of shit they ripped up still cought me off gaurd. They are with out a doubt the craziest most elite fuckers I have seen here since Cryptopsy. | jay brown User Info... | Everyone here has said it all, the only thing I can add is that in 21 years of going to shows in Victoria this is easily in the top two. Gwar being the other, and both in the same room. I would have to say that this beats out the gwar show though. Funny story, talking to the drummer from c.c. and I realized that I had seen them before in Vancouver back in the nineties and forgotten about it. How on earth did I manage to forget that huh, weird. Well there it is the best show I've ever seen in Victoria. Every band on the bill were just fucking amazing, my brain is still having problems wrapping itself around that show. Talk about fucking HEADBANING!! holy shit that was nuts! Missed Meatlicker, but they're always a treat. There's just one thing i don't get; why the FUCK are we playing sold-out metal shows at Logan's w/ people standing outside hoping to get in when Sugar is right there and far superior?!
