RDArtist User Info... | I Am looking to sell or trade my 1978 Gibson RD Artist electric guitar. It has dual Dimarzio humbuckers and original case as well as strap-loks. It has a solid maple body and neck as well as an ebony fingerboard and gold hardware. GREAT CONDITION. Especially for being 30 years old! - Thu, 26 Feb 2009 3:36pm
RDArtist User Info... | Like an idiot I forgot to post the price. I am asking $1700 but I am more then willing to hear other offers. - Thu, 26 Feb 2009 4:07pm
Crux User Info... | what are you looking for for trades? - Thu, 26 Feb 2009 4:23pm
RDArtist User Info... | Something by Gibson or Gretsch preferably. No idea really. Just something in the same price range. Oh and no Gibson Studios please. - Thu, 26 Feb 2009 4:50pm
Dopebilly User Info... | is the moog circuitry still in it or has it been gutted? are the pick ups active? would ya trade for an amp or just guitars? - Fri, 27 Feb 2009 4:52pm
Crux User Info... | this model didn't have the moog stuff if i remember right it was the rd custom or rd "77" that had the moog. - Fri, 27 Feb 2009 5:20pm
RDArtist User Info... | No the RD's didn't have moog but did have active pickups. These guitars were Gibson's attempt at challenging B.C. Rich and Jackson in this area of the market. Sadly the person I bought this from hated the thought of Active pickups and had them replaced by Dimarzio Bluesbuckers. - Fri, 27 Feb 2009 5:40pm
Dopebilly User Info... | I thought that the RD standard was the only one not to have moog active pre amp and Most custom and artist 77- 82 did, but then again I don't really know. most people didn't like the active moog pre amp and gutted 'em. which is what I would've done and seems to have been done! simplicity is best. Are you in Vic? - Fri, 27 Feb 2009 5:54pm
RDArtist User Info... | Ya, I'm just off Hillside. If anyone's interested I'm totally willing to go a bit lower on the price. People are asking about 2000 for the same guitar on ebay. I don't expect near that much due to the non-original pickups. Even though the pickups it has have amazing tone in the solid maple body. - Fri, 27 Feb 2009 6:22pm
