Anonymous 500 hahaha, only 400 new - Sat, 5 Apr 2003 2:10pm
ticklefish check out Johnson J-stations as well: cheaper by a long shot, and not much difference in quality. I compared the Behringer V-amp, Pod, and J-station, and bought the J-station. Check out reviews at Harmonycentral.com. Just a suggestion: it'll save you plenty of $$ (look on Ebay, probably find one for 100-200 US$) - Mon, 7 Apr 2003 1:35pm

Engineer TY for the info and for that person with the $500 Pod, keep it, sounds like it's gold. I can get one new at L&M for $350. - Wed, 9 Apr 2003 4:44pm
Anonymous i was seeing if he was stupid enough to fall for it. If he was i was just going to buy it there and re sell it to him. By the way the j-station sucks ass, there is a reason that nobody uses it. If you knew what those amps really sounded like you wouldnt buy one. - Thu, 10 Apr 2003 2:36am
Anonymous line 6's sound like ass.
put it side by side with any of the tube amps it tries to emulate, and you'll understand.
spend your 350 on a tubeman, or some other tube preamp, and find your own tones. - Thu, 10 Apr 2003 1:13pm
ticklefish yeah yeah yeah, get the real thing they sound better. I am not a "amp emulation " user because I think they sound as good as the real thing. I am an emulation user because it costs a fraction of the real thing, plus you get tons of different types, and you can record any time of day without getting noise complaints. And if you are so hooked on "the real thing", well I have never bragged about J-station or POD recorded tracks and said "wow check out this rectifier track", I would say "check out this song and this guitar track". All the emulators take tweaking to get the right tone out of them, and if you aren't patient, they sound like shit. The J-station kicks ass for the tone I like, and it does a great job. I couldn't care less if it sounds just like the amp I am trying to simulate, I just know when my ears like what they hear, and plenty of other people like the tone they hear out of it. If you have an amp, tehn the J-station (or POD) work awesome as effects processors, just turn the amp and cabinet emulation off, put in the FX loop of the amp, and you have a great delay/phaser/chorus/reverbs/multiband compressor/wah whatever, pair it up with a good MIDI foot controller, and you are off to the races, plus you still have money left over to get other gear. Go ahead and pay a couple of grand to get a few different amps and foot pedals if you have the money. Most musicians by definition can't afford that, and if you are hung up on the name on the amp you are playing, then you aren't spending enough time learning how to play the instrument itself. Any good musicians you play with won't give a fuck what gear you own as long as you know how to play and get good tone. I do just fine with a J-station. - Thu, 10 Apr 2003 1:56pm
steve I have a Digitech RP200 that i will let go for $200. I think these units are pretty decent but Im put together a rack for the amps i use.I use an older digitech rack Gsp-21 Pro and would like to find a rack tuner/??? for it. - Thu, 10 Apr 2003 3:04pm
