| london drugged User Info... | hey, i want to start a rock band before the summer, and i need some musicians. i'm 22, play guitar, write songs and am learning to sing, but need some dudes/dude-ettes to fill in the spaces! i've been playing for 3 years, so i'm looking for some people with roughly the same experience. some music that has influenced me are bands like sabbath, metallica, ozzy's first 2 solo albums (big randy rhoads fan), pantera, anything hendrix has done, white stripes, led zeppelin, pink floyd, deep purple, rainbow, early van halen, RUSH!!! (alex lifeson fucking rules), gun's 'n roses...get the idea? i'm also into a whole other realm of music, more softer or 'alternative' stuff. radiohead, dylan, elliot smith, pixies, bright eyes, beatles, nirvana, king crimson...plus a shitload of other stuff but i gotta stop somewhere i can't say that i sound like any of those bands, but somwehere, in my music genes, lies DNA that's been implanted by all those guys in one way or another. so yeah, if any of you bassists, drummers, or guitarists out there want to start a kick ass rock band, then drop me an email at [email protected] and tell me about yourself and ask any questions you may have, peace! - Fri, 9 Jun 2006 10:09pm | ||

| Doc User Info... | I probably fit none of your criteria but you seemed kinda bummed out about the number of responses so here it goes. I'm 28, I do vocals and write and I've been at it for about 14 years. Stuff I like is: Metallica (up to and including Load/ReLoad), Slayer, Testament, the Scorpions, Stone Sour, Slioknot, Mushroom Head, Leonard Cohen, Killswitch Engage, Children of Bodom, In Flames, Shadows Fall, Fear Factory, Lamb of God, God Forbid, Canibal Corpse, Cryptopsy, Suffocation and a whole bunch of others that don't leap immediately to mind. I also have a number of classical influences. Like I said, I didn't think it quite fit with what you're looking for, but if you're interested, drop me a line and we can get together. | london drugged User Info... | thanks dude i appreciate it, but i already have vocals covered alright guys, maybe i was too vague when i described what i am lookin for... i need instrumentalists, people who can play bass and drums but also could play other stuff too...i just picked up an organ, and somethin else that i can't remember the name of. it's really rad though, it's basically an organ, but you have to blow through a tube to make it work. it's fuckin awsome. i figure, the more intruments available, the better. i really dont't want any restrictions either, as far as music making goes. i guess you could say it could be a little bit 'experimental', except without the sucking. but i don't want to stick on any labels. anwyways, hope that sort of helps broaden the idea of what i want to get started. oh yeah, i just listened to king crimson's 'red', man i was blown away after listening to fallen angel. anyone else heard that shit? definately the sort of thing i wouldn't mind gettin into - Mon, 19 Jun 2006 9:51pm Edited: Mon, 19 Jun 2006 9:56pm | ||
