some people will cry at this video.

worst video/song

1.i doubt zakk and dime have mega long hair when the were that age, also why would zakk call him dime considering his original nickname was diamond darrel????
2.i like how he destroys a piano what a waste
3.the guitar solo sucked and was hella out of place

i dont like pantera much, it was a great loss for people and he died a terrible way but to many are "sad" about it, its almost trendy to be sad. that in its self is pretty fucking sad. - Fri, 8 Dec 2006 2:46pm

It was a waste of talent and didn't need to happen. That is why people are sad about it. The guy was very outgoing and made people feel like they knew him eventhough they'd never met him. Huge influence for a lot of people.
I don't know anyone who is upset over the loss of Darrell Abbott just to be trendy.
Like him or not, he was a way more innovative guitar player than most all his detractors. - Fri, 8 Dec 2006 3:29pm

Dude what's fucking sad is that nothing can happen here, or be heard about here without some fucked up douchebag like yourself talking some shit. Dimebag was an amazing guitarist and an even more amazing person. If I were you I would fucking pray that I could be a fraction of the person dimebag was. diamond darrel was an amazing person, i dont like his bands though(the only good pantera album was "powermetal") he was a good guitarist but ive seen better and heard better, and it is trendy think of all the nu metal and scenester kids who cry everynight because hes dead and thats because its cool to like diamond darrel. also i could careless if i could play guitar like him.

Yeah there may be better guitarists out there, but they are still alive. If someone that you respected was shot in the face in front an entire audience, I believe that it would affect even you tough guy. And as far as nu-metal, FUCK THAT SHIT, even the word Nu is fucking gay especially when referencing metal. And by the way, I don't like damageplan or rebel meets rebel, but I respect it. Maybe you're just pissed off that all the emo kids and trendy scenesters thought you too much of a loser to include in the march to the land of supreme coolness. But something tells me it has more to do with an exceptionally low IQ. See you in trendy Nu-metal hell ass-wang. - Fri, 8 Dec 2006 5:55pm

Man, I never got to see Pantera. When I lived in Ottawa, they would play in either upper new york state, or if I was in South Florida, they would play in West Palm Beach. Either way I always was outta town 2 days before they played. What a damn shame. - Fri, 8 Dec 2006 6:51pm

I got to meet Dimebag in Vancouver when they played at the Commodore (Vulgar Display Of Power tour...with Trouble opening!!!) Waited in the rain at the backdooor to meet them, and they were all really cool, especially dime, who signed some hockey cards I had in my pocket (didnt have anything else to write on haha). He was an incredible guitarist, a unique personality and larger than life. He really did love the fans, anyone who ever met him will tell you. It's always going to be a little sad (as is the day Chuck Schuldiner passed), as we remember them and the music they left us with. RIP Dime - Fri, 8 Dec 2006 7:51pm

He seemed like a pretty cool guy. Saw Pantera when they played with I think Skid Row at the forum in Vancouver. He hung out at the side of the stage while some of the openers were on and was just like any other music fan, enjoying the music. Terrible waste that he died and scary in the way he was killed. - Fri, 8 Dec 2006 8:42pm

Yeah, it really is mostly the behaviour of the masses of idiot fans which make people want to turn on all these musicians who've died. Its the people who like to loudly or obnoxiously lament their deaths that makes it annoying. It just sucks for those who are honestly sad and want to pay respect, and aren't trying to define themselves or get attention through it. And for the musicians, of course, who probably never wanted to be used as that kind of tool for bored scenester types.

And I don't think its too much to mark this day and honor him, because whoever he was and whatever he played, some of us are still outraged at what happened. His death stands for something: no one who gets up on a stage to play music deserves to go out like that. It was disrespectful to everyone who performs or enjoys witnessing live performance, cuz that interaction & experience is sacred. It makes me angry and upset just writing this. - Fri, 8 Dec 2006 8:46pm

Holy fuck Jeff , why didn't you just stay the fuk out of this thread ? Huh?
You know fuck all about anything , and little too nothing about Dime ?!
Who the fuck are you to tell me or anyone what we should morn or who I should remember ?

Does that make you a man ? BOY .

I loved Dine and so did many of us . You should grow the fuk up , and realize the shit you say to people will come home to roost .
Just because you think this is the internet and you can spew your opinions around like spunk soaked Kleenex. Doesn’t mean there wont be repercussions?
You’re wrapped up in the young dumbass stage and need to grow the fuck up before you get your ass kicked by someone who takes offence .
I /We know you Jeff, and you know squat about fucking nothing , and when someone you revere gets offed on the stage then you can open your big fucking mouth . Till them STFU . - Fri, 8 Dec 2006 10:17pm Edited: Fri, 8 Dec 2006 10:18pm

The innovation wasn't in Pantera's songwriting. It was his style and all the little tricks he pulled. His influence can't be denied. Innovation isn't about playing the fastest or being the best at technical exercises. Any jackass can practice in their room for years and do arpreggios. It's about reshaping how people look at playing through having a unique sound and style.
I would advise you, Jeff to read a little more carefully. This isn't a Pantera thread. This is a Darrell Abbott thread and your spouting off about Pantera is way off base and makes you look your age.
Ahh, nevermind. I want to see you get your ass handed to you. Carry on! - Fri, 8 Dec 2006 10:40pm Edited: Fri, 8 Dec 2006 10:46pm

This is sort of getting off topic but Jeff thought Pantera's best album was Power Metal?? Umm, I'm sorry but they disowned all those early albums for a reason. - Sat, 9 Dec 2006 12:04am

dude honestly take a fucking chill pill, getting worked up over nothing. im not afraid of you man(what are you going to do beat me up), i probably know more about metal then you, we have had coversations about metal and you were "surprised" about how much i knew, or did that just not happen....

my point is his death is overated by most people, aka those how make a big deal about shit like this and probably could careless about diamond darrel. and all you fucks are taking it like im saying "diamond darrel is fucking retarted he sucked at life i think its rad hes dead" no i never said that once. settle down and always remeber
