| Mike User Info... | Most the new "modern rock" of about the last 6-7 years is some of the most horrible shitty music I have ever heard. Like all these new bands The Darkness, Switchfoot, Jet, Maroon 5, Three Days Grace, Simple Plan, Nickelback, Puddle of Mudd, Yellowcard...etc etc don't do a thing for me. Call me a negasaurus and just a retro-fiend, but I don't really find any of these new bands on the billboard charts to be appealing at all. They just keep repeating the same dried out 3 chord rock formula that has been overdone to the max. The whole post grunge 1994-2004 era has been a disgraceful joke. I agree with Eddie Van Halen that pretty much all of todays rock bands are nothing more than label slaves, and rock stars, they sure aren't musicians. | soap_dodger User Info... | I agree. Look at a band like Linkin Park (or however the fuck you spell it). The two vocalists: 1. The white boy rapper who's phrasing is the same in every song, lyrics are terrible, and voice is boring. 2. The other singer who alternates between whiney "emo" during the verses, and screaming in the choruses. It's not a real scream, however - not like a Kurt Cobain, or the old Rage singer. Even The darkness say thier act & sound is Spinaltapish and that is sad in kind of a way and the UK always seemed to latch on to bands from there, look at Oasis . Pegged the new Beatles and where the fuck are they today? Their always looking for and over rating the bands from the UK . That said there's alot worse then The darkness out there and I'd rather have the young folks listening to them and some of the modern hard rock bands then buying American Idol fakes who sing lounge music and crap ! | The One After Two User Info... | here here Donnie, finally a reply that doesn't suck as much as modern rock :) Couldn't 9/10th of all the bands in Victoria be considered modern rock? Modern rock to me means new, progressive and rock. Some bands just have their shit together more than you do and have a fan base larger than your high-school buddies. Don't be hate'n.
