Well i listened to it, and well, i dont like it at all. All i hear is alot of one key keyboard playing, with nothing but drum machines .

Of course my opinion is very close minded, as i am highly prejudical against people like yourself who claim to be musicians (if you do lol). I would never refer to you as a musician, maybe "Computer Inclined" sounds closer to the truth.

Sorry if i sound rude, but you asked for an opinion. And where is this "Chart" you speak of?. - Mon, 29 Mar 2004 1:04pm

okay.. so I listned to it.

It wasnt terrible. Unfortunatly... i dont have much appreciation for it. see, a musician puts HOURS AND HOURS AND HOURS into his music... a musician is NO DIFFERENT from an artist.

ive made tonnns of techno stuff, I love techno. but what separates your stuff from anyone else's? its all just "boom tsss boom tsss boom tsss booom tsss" in 4/4. Make some techno in 6/8, or 5/4. lol.

however, all in all. it wasnt that bad. it would be good if i was on E... it just gets a lil boring... it would be better if it was just a 3 min song with more action.

the begining was cool too.

but ya. if you wana hear some of my stuff id be glad to share it. - Mon, 29 Mar 2004 4:55pm

Thanks for nothing fu#k3rs- dont be idiots? u think it took me minutes to make that piece? I am a musician and a composer but I use different instruments.

Maybe if you weren't so narrow minded off the bat you could listen to the melodies, complex rythms( and no- it wasnt a pre-made drum machine), bass lines, Fx, progression, and all the other things that went into making this piece of music.

Feedback, sure - thanks for that - it was very insightfull into the world of ignorance.

Cheers, oh and btw- Learn how to browse a webpage pierce- the charts are there, you just need to open your eyes. - Mon, 29 Mar 2004 7:58pm

are you trying to make an epic statement?:
"taking on the music industry with little money but huge sound."

why are you "taking on" the music industry? are you fighting it? - Mon, 29 Mar 2004 8:23pm

Ohhh my bad, i didnt look on the website. I mean, who gives a shit about how many times you can convince a friend or family member to listen to your tunes. You said you achieved success, was that what you were talking about?

Dude, you are learning very fast grasshopper, i sense the anger you have towards us narrow minded people, giv er dude, take the music industry down!

"World of ignorance" what the hell are you talking about. I know exactly what you did to produce that music, you see i was doing it back in the 80's, and used to dj my highschool dances with the shit. All i had was a yamaha junior wired through an old atari...beat that, cry baby! - Mon, 29 Mar 2004 9:22pm

The first little while was tight
I really liked it, but the other dudes
are right, there isn't much that separates
it from other techno, and it would be better
shorter i think, I don't know i like more
repitition usually in techno, unless it's
going off in crazy directions, this is just the
same beat with different crazy sounds at least
that's what it sounds like to me, but hey I still
think it's good. - Mon, 29 Mar 2004 10:32pm

Hello Anonymous. First off, your music is ok for candy ravers, for the rest of the world it is just unoriginal, boring, repetitive garbage. I also think it's pretty sad that you posted a reply to your post and called your critics "fu..ckers". If you want to get any better you have to listen to what people tell you. I'm telling you to put in 5 years of music lessons, throw in some non-sampled ibnstruments, vocal melodies, and mix up the time sigenture (not that you know what a time sigenature is anyways).

I also think this whole post could be a joke. If it is, props. I'm laughing. - Mon, 29 Mar 2004 11:32pm

Everytime someone listens does the "song" "rating" go up?? i think thats what the point of this post was. Regardless of its crappy or un-crappyness, the "song" has now had a few more "plays" and gets a better "rating" doesn't it? anyone else see anything more i can put in " " 's?

p.s. I didn't listen to this "song" - Tue, 30 Mar 2004 2:30am

I think your first mistake was asking for opinions on a site that is generally peroused by musicians of the non-techno variety (myself included).

I think your second mistake was over-reacting to comments that you asked for. Were the comments justified? I guess it depends on who you ask. Undoubtedly, someone is going to tell you you suck no matter how good (or bad) you are. If you want public opinion you had better grow a thick skin. Otherwise, you'll just get into shouting matches that have nothing to do with the music.

I'm not a listener of techno music and I don't follow the scene, so my opinion doesn't carry much weight. I think you're doing alright if you're being creative and keeping your mind active. If you enjoy what you're doing and some other people dig it as well you should key in on that and try not to sweat what the others are saying. I'm not saying "don't listen" because they may have some good advice and ideas, but don't take it so personally; especially on a message board. - Tue, 30 Mar 2004 8:29am

look man... like everyone said, you asked for opinions. I wasnt harsh at all, you just cried cuz i didnt praise you. But seriously now, it doesnt take a 10th of the talent to push down a key, than it does to play a perfect c on a violen.

like the guy said before, take some music lessons, and check out time signatures and poly rythms - Tue, 30 Mar 2004 9:01am

Exellent- a heated debate- this is not what I expected, but it will do.

Where to start... I realize not everyone enjoys techno, but I expect musicians at least to keep an open mind to the world around them. I challenge anyone here to even come close to the level of sound I achieved through use of just software...

I have taken music lessons, I'm in theory courses right now, I play various instruments - and yet I still think its all relative to what you percieve as musical skill that counts.

Just like you all play your instruments I play my computer- it doesnt make a sound I dont tell it to, and each sound it makes is specific to my compositional style, taste, and genre. I didnt all of a sudden just punched random notes and used pre-set rythms and harmonies- or synthesizers for that matter. It took me 4 years of experimentation, reading, learning, and composition to get me to this stage- so all I'm saying is dont critisize me for my use of the computer to make music, critisize the music itself (.

I can appreciate your feedback even if its negative, and i do believe me.

I was just hoping people would give me something constructive to work with here....

Anyway, keep listening cause it does bump me up the charts, and the higher I get, the more chance a record label from Europe (where people are more cultured) will discover my talent.

In Europe, where people are more cultured? Are you saying that being European or having an appreciation for "Technotronic" or "Laptop" makes you more cultured? Or are you just saying, "Here I am! Beat me with a stick...please!" - Tue, 30 Mar 2004 12:20pm

Hey DJ Infinity. Read the posts more clearly, YOU are the one making a debate of it. You asked of my opinion, and i say it is not good. It lacks musical talent, skill, originality, melody, rythm, and all that other stuff.

"I challenge anyone here to even come close to the level of sound I achieved through use of just software..." I fart in your general direction for saying that. You have got to be kidding me. I will tell you better, i can reproduce that exact song, the only difference is, i will PLAY each and every instrument. And YES, since it is all Boom-Pst-Boom-Pst 4/4 i can easily play it, although i suck at drums.

You call us close minded, i beg to differ. It is you in your close minded world.

You are young, your music is "Blah" right now. If i were to play you my demos from when i was young, you would be saying the exact same thing, after all, i was doing exactly what you are right now, even before techno was born.......with...you know it......."Pump up the jam"!

I know one thing, i play in a very cool band and if you were to play with us you would leave crying like a little school girl. The only criticism i recieve is negative.....and quite frankly, its the negative critiques which have been most valuable. Every now and the Sudz will pat my ass, for like 20 minutes or so, but never at jam times, only at home.

Remember this..... If someone tells you "Hey thats awesome, wicked, you go take on the world" they are providing you nothing to work with, or to progress on. On the other hand, for us to give you negative comments, you have learned or at least have recived the following advice........

1) Try using more than 1 note per measure. I know its tuff, but your computer should handle it.

2) 4/4 timing is a bit too repetitive in a long song, maybe switch it up to a 5/4 (lol) or 4/3..whateva.

3) Taking negative criticism with a thin skin gets you nowhere!

4) take some music lessons, and check out time signatures and poly rythms

You see thats all points you can work on. BUT NO!,,,you want the only 2 good comments.......

"dude thats a pretty tight song man" or "Not bad really, I kind of dig it. " What do you learn from that? NOTHING. You just end up Giv'n Er with the good knob all the way down.

If all you wanted was an ego boost, try hanging out at walmart, jerking off , or maybe just write good music. Also, i fart again in your general direction for making me write out all this shit. About the whole European Record deal,,,,yeah i hear ya. When MP3 was out, we were number 1 for a day, thats how i scored my record deal.

PS: Techno is ghey - Tue, 30 Mar 2004 1:49pm
