| James User Info... | Yeah I'm not sure if this is the right place to put this, but anyways, what's the tonal difference between a marshall jcm 800 and a plexi, does anyone know? the new marshall's are alright, and the 900 is a little raw for me, and I like the dude's who use the 800 and the plexi, is the plexi the one all those 80's hair bands used? anyways, if anyone can enlighten me that would rule, thanks a lot. - Wed, 4 Feb 2004 5:55pm | ||
| Kickback User Info... | Both are low gain amps. The 800 2203/2204's have more gain than a plexi and in my opinion a bigger low end. The 800 2205/2210's have even more gain the 2203/2204's but tend to sound muddy because of the diode clipping used to get the extra gain. Plexi's have a really good crisp and bright classic rock tone. What kinda sound are you looking for? i own both types of 800's and have played a few plexis so i can probably tell you which amp will suit you. - Wed, 4 Feb 2004 7:46pm | ||
