| Jess User Info... | Hey guys. For the most part Ive been steadily improving this room since I took over in late Nov. Although it happens slowly I manage to get one project done a week. So far weve added a huge assortment of mics, Stage lighting (which is being put on a dimmer this week), fixed all our monitors and were now in the process of moving our sound board to the back of the room to improve sound quality and response. Also Im currently looking for a sound guy on Sat nights and will be posting that ad in the craigslist this week. However if anyone is interested I can be reached at [email protected]. | Josh User Info... | I've been booking bands for te Cambie Esquimalt, and Nanaimo since last May, and we've seen a lot of change. We are slowly shifting from a country pub, so a newer, fresher, and more hip venue. We have a Wed. night Jam night, DJ's, Tues, Thurs, and Fri. and live bands every Sat. night. | _Griphin_ User Info... | I've been to the Cambie in Esquimalt once (the Halfway House), Laugh Master (a good friend of mine) died out front of that place helping someone with their van, I think. Went there once to catch a show, really liked that place, it's friggin' huge! But I also remember the old manager having problems with being properly paid for booking bands (I think that's what happened). | Matteus User Info... | Well sounds like I have to check it out now. I would like to catch some filming there of the live bands that are playing. I just long for a place like steamers again. Just a place where everyone knows your name.... oh wait, that's cheers. But yeah, i'd like a venue that you can have live music most of the week and get a beer with out worrying about a certain "type" of crowd. I think steamers was good for that. Yo cambie guys, I was just out there, the room has serious potential, other then its out of town location I see no reason why this bar couldn't pick up the slack. Some points. What you have is not A PA, you need to look at some real systems, you can rent or lease, I can steer you to some deals. Book them and they will come, If you have bands at least 4 nights a week people will begin to view it a a legit venue.
