Aaron B and Howie have reunited with former guitarist Matt to form a new ensemble while Karl has moved on to persue other interests. Myself, the talentless one, will move on like a parasite to leech off the talent of musicians and share in the glory of a new band......I hope.....Thanks to all who faithfully came to our shows, gave us shows, bought our shit and fed us booze. | H User Info... | Yeah this is a really crappy situation, but you have to pursue what you want to do. If it's not fun or not what you want then why do it? Anyways, we wish the best of luck to Karl (who doesn't even need it - this guy is smokin' with talent) and Aaron (poor guy's screwed now) with their future endeavors. Matt, Aaron Berg and myself will continue on playing in ol' fashioned gallows style under the name Gallows End, but it will be with new songs (we may bust out an oldie once in awhile) and new members on vox and lead geet. As for the Extreme Metal II, my side project folk band featuring the late mary poppins will take gallows' place. To me, a name is a name, we could be called "meatlocker mike's sweaty anus" and i wouldn't care. So if it's that important to them to keep the name then so what? | ML7Mike User Info... | Tis ok, I do beleive we have a backlog of bands wanting a spot in our room.. Which means existing bands need to pay on time always, which GE has always done. BUT seeing as how Wreaker was the man who always paid us on time, the question is when do we get paid now.. Its the 1st and I havent heard hide nor hair about rent, nor were we approached about it on Sunday at the show. So, until I get paid, am I to assume that the remaining guys are moving out today as well? | H User Info... | Whoa, im surprised people think that gallows was established and had a huge following. Sure we had a few fans but a lot of the people who came out to the shows were friends. I really don't think that keeping the name is such a big deal, seeing how we'll be playing exactly the same style as before (if gallows stuck together the new stuff would be much different) and yes, Matt's the one who coined the name and wrote almost all of the songs. Would it make sense for chuck to rename death everytime their lineup changed? | Wreaker of Havoc User Info... | I have no problem with them keeping the name; its just a name. If they need to ride off of what little noteriety GE has built up over the past year then go for it. There was nothing amazing about GEs music. It was good at best. GE had alot of great talent and a tonne of potential. I looked VERY forward to the stuff that was going to be created to make GE great. What made GE popular in this city was the energy of the liveshow, the connection with fans, support of our friends and promoting the hell out of our shit. So if you want to tell me that riffs are what made GE the I ask you when Matt used those same riffs years ago in another band how come people didnt come to their shows? Thats what I thought. And comparing Matt to Chuck of Death???? I just spilt my fucking coffee. anyway.Look at ML7 for example. Their music is a disgrace but they are nice guys so everyone comes to their shows. (heheh couldnt resist) Its like telling me the guy who wrote the script and came up with a title is the reason a movie is great. Its a good start but that is all. A great movie must have a great cast, good promotion and alot of support. Remember Victoria is a very fickel city. VERY easy to get your band known but bands are very quickly forgotten and replaced with the new. H you say GE was changing and Im telling you with Matt GE was going into a hole. You strongly agreed. So did Karl. I think at this point though Im the only one that will not jam with Matt so maybe even Karl could fill that spot. LOL. I would have preferred the change, you prefer the hole. I dont think anyone regrets where they are at the moment. I dont think new GE's music with be your problem, i believe other issues will stand in you way. Good luck though guys!
