Anonymous you forgot to list every punk, grunge, and disco group. And all the boy bands that cant play or sing.

Now this is a better start. - Wed, 26 Feb 2003 9:11am
Anonymous Why is Axle on the list? I would have to think he's under rated! The guy is a genius! He owns the band name and gets away with shit that would put most bands underground forever and he's still selling albums. - Wed, 26 Feb 2003 9:21am
Troutbreath Carlos Santana?? What kind of a cloth eared bint are you? - Wed, 26 Feb 2003 10:02am
Anonymous Carlos sounds like he plays the same simple scale on everything he does. Is that incorrect?

his stuff is great for beginners to learn something they can be coool and do right away. So I thought. - Wed, 26 Feb 2003 10:33am
Troutbreath To begin with, what you say about Carlos can also be said about the Blues. It has a relatively simple scale and chord progression and a beginner can pick it up fairly quickly. However, there is a world of difference between what a beginner can do with it and someone like, say, B.B. King can do with it. The Blues style of music came out of the work of numerous players over many years. Carlos developed a whole new genre of music practically by himself. His father played Clarinet in the San Francisco area with Latin big bands. Carlos grew up around that. He learned Latin guitar, flamenco and classical and then, with the other members of his band, he adapted it to the electric instruments that were becoming available in the sixties. I listened to Carlos when he first came out, yes boys and girls I'm THAT old, he was a major influence then and he remains so. All those people lining up to play on his latest albums attest to that. That's just in the English speaking world. I play Latin percussion in a modest 8 piece local Victoria band. I have lived and played in Mexico. In the Spanish speaking world Carlos is not just an influencial musician he is some kind of an Aztec God. I can't even begin to explain how important he is in in those parts of the world. He made it OK for people to be Latino. You could play Latin music and still be cooool and that transcends music. - Wed, 26 Feb 2003 11:03am

Jimi and Stevie deserve all the credit they get, especially Jimi. Open your ears, it's more than just the haze. Carlos was never really my thing but I know he's damn good. You left out some great git drunk an beat my wife bands like the Eagles and Leanard Skynard. Fucking up Jimi's name really fucked up your creadibility, btw. And yes, i know damn well that i probably fucked up the spelling of Skynard but i don't give a shit.

Putaforkinme...I'mdone Hey Virge!
Whilst correcting the grammatical composition of others re:Jimi Hendrix, you lose credibility (not creadibility ) when spelling is incorrect. Geez Louise can't people proof read? Hey Troutbreath...Carlos rocks on for us younger folks too! - Thu, 27 Feb 2003 2:10am
Damocles Here's one that will surely get me shot and pissed on but I don't care. Jimmy Page - the man is a fucking hack when it comes to writing a solo. - Thu, 27 Feb 2003 10:18am
