| stank ass | I had a conversation with some friends the other day about cheap Valentine's Day gifts. My ex, who I'm sure some of you know, is chronically and pathetically broke. We dated for a number of years, and year after year I received nothing but some picked wild flowers and a card (sometimes he made the card himself out of paper and glue). I thought it was sweet that he tried, but I found it sweet in such a way as when a child brings some fucked up picture of a dog that s/he drew to her/his mom... Or maybe it was more like feeling sorry for a handicapped person who's trying to hit on you... I don't know. I always just thought he was a cheap, lazy bastard. It's not like I'm trying to be shallow, but this kind of shit happened at Xmas, on birthdays, on Mother's Day with his mom, etc. Anyhow, anyone else experienced this... lately or in the past? | RPG | I've known or know a lot of people who are always whining that they're broke and basically always play victim. It never bugged me before, I'd always cover because I don't like being cheap with small things, food, booze etc, but then I figured out that they had RRSP's and other shit, nice gear etc, and I didn't. It hasn't stopped me from covering small things for people even despite being out of work, but it sure has made me think.
