Some young female ran there car into a fire truck and were dead at the scene. This happened on Otter Point Road, right past deadman's curve (as your heading to the fire department) just before what used to be the golf course (I lived just passed there on Beaton road). Seems the youth weren't impressed and ended up throwing a rock at the media when some guy was being interviewed. Wow, what a moron to do something like that. - Fri, 6 Oct 2006 11:19pm Edited: Fri, 6 Oct 2006 11:21pm

Ya it sucks. All the highschool kids knew her. I dont know anymore that what I heard, this post, and the step-daughter analysis.

Old peeps like us have to encourage the youth to learn that its dangerous mofo to drive car. Even under SAFE conditions it's still the single most dangerous thing that people do on a daily basis.

Like I say, dont know the details but it sucks hard none the less.

My step-girl was asking tonight how old she has to be to drive, and we discussed it in detail, but somehow I wished the age was about 21. - Sat, 7 Oct 2006 5:05am

I drove my ATC off of that corner back when I was about 13 living in Sooke. Broke my nose and my passenger's leg. It's a totlly dangerous part of the road when it rains. As it has been illustrated yet again, shitty deal all around. - Sat, 7 Oct 2006 8:20am

Yes

N' Smedley, if I wanted to be a grammar nazi? I would have clearly pointed out, that since, the vehicle was owned by the girl who was driving it.(?)

The sentence technically, fundamentally, and in it's most corrective standing nature- was to have been written like this, instead..
I.E.-
"Some young female ran her (not 'there') car into a fire truck and were found (including proper grammar- as a past participle 'found') dead at the scene."

its not the fact that you corrected someones grammar in humor and sarcasim... its the fact that you used this thread, a thread about a girl who died in a car crash, to correct someones grammar. If you knew what tact was, then you'd see where I am coming from.
Also, I dont need to see your wordy comebacks worthy of not from a highschool graduate. Next time you want to point a finger and tell someone their wrong, think about it and how you feel when people tell you your wrong... - Sat, 14 Oct 2006 11:51am Edited: Sat, 14 Oct 2006 12:14pm

I'm not the one who refered to the driver or the occupants of the car 'morons,' Albeit, I wasn't the one driving the car, so sit back and judge yourselves, before you start judging others of 'their' spelling or grammar and for me to show some respect?

Let it be a lesson that Griphin's grammar and spelling- even on an 'offday,'- would have easliy shredded the flesh and bones and brittle ideaology of those who died in the car wreck including their levels of education.

First and foremost, (as 'fast and as furiously' as I can say about the 'wreck victims')
I'd hate to say that they deserved to die that way, but the Darwin Awards have seen much more bizzarer ways of people dying.

Like, I don't even believe this story is for real. (Griphin made it up.)

Proof, before finger pointing... T'is no wonder why J is jumping to conclusions here, he hangs around with people who, in ALL aspects above and beyond pretensiousness, towards honesty- show 'credibility problems' dealing with their daily lifestyles.

So don't lie to the people here, because in retrospect you are only lying to yourself[ves]{Tragedy} when it comes to respect. - Sat, 14 Oct 2006 7:21pm

Ah, but I never called the driver a moron, I did call the people who threw the rocks morons, but I can see it from their perspective. But then again, what do I know?!? I'm old and grumpy. And yes, I saw about the funeral on the news the other day. I really don't know the people involved nor what led to what happened. But I do know that part of the road, it beats me why they don't straighten it out, now the golf course isn't there anymore. - Sat, 14 Oct 2006 10:46pm

Mr. Old n' Grumpy- you said it (more or less) Griphin_ "People who live in Glass Houses shouldn't throw stones at representatives of the media from their fucking cars while driving on mountainous roads...!!'
And here's to more mud in your eye-
Did you hear the story about 3 teens, (somewhere in the City of Saanich) a home invasion attempt which lead to their arrests when allegedly; they attacked another teen in his home last week... now get this... with 'Golf Clubs'...

I know golf is supposed to be one of those highly appreciated and on all levels of respective and reserved played professional sports.

I can't believe people would take it that serious though, that if they did, "close that course," I'm sure they could just go drive down and cut acrosss Humpback Rd. and play at Bear Mountain C.C. instead.

Seems like a waste of life- giving up your tee times for throwing stones, doing home invasions and hitting your friends with Golf Clubs.

What a waste. - Sun, 15 Oct 2006 1:02pm Edited: Sun, 15 Oct 2006 1:03pm

I had the Eaglecrest G.C. in Qualicum mixed up with Broomehill G.C. in Sooke.. Wupz, so who was throwing rocks here again, Griphin?

Apparently the 17 year old driver, was the lone occupant of the car and ran into a fire truck in front of a fire hall.

I was right about one thing that, there was no, 'there'.

I'm still wondering though, Where the rock throwing interjected into all of this? - Sun, 15 Oct 2006 1:35pm

FOUR!!!!

Apparently the youth was driving away from Sooke town center when the truck hit the car. So, I guess this means that the car spun out and hit the truck, though you wouldn't see that if you saw a photo of the accident. Still, since the golf course isn't there anymore, they should straighten out that part of Otter Point road. But they probably won't because the owners of the golf course want to make a ton of money and they don't want the road on their property. - Mon, 16 Oct 2006 10:23am

yeah, well the story would have been more easily comprehensible if say the details were a little more self-explainatory...

Like, I'm supposed to guess that the rock throwing occured before or after the accident.

From what I understood, there was only one person killed in the wreck, in front of the Firehall, not multiples of 'there or their', you know what the fuck I'm sayin' here holmes?

Apparently, the news source I'd read, burned the article, and no-longer exists, (so I can't post it) n' that the article didn't really go into full details about anything other than the 17 yr. old who died in the crash.

Nothing else was mentioned about... - Wed, 18 Oct 2006 7:12pm

Crash claims the life of a local teen

Tragedy struck Friday on Otter Point Road near the Sooke Municipal office and fire hall.

A Honda CRX, driven by 17-year-old Amanda Anderson, lost control and collided with a Sooke district emergency truck as it approached the fire.

"In spite of attempts to resuscitate the driver, she died on scene," reported Sooke RCMP Constable Barb Cottingham on Friday Morning. The accident occurred at about 8:30 a.m.

"One of our fire trucks was coming back from our #2 fire hall for some general maintenance. He was hit by an oncoming car coming from the west on Otter Point Road," reported Mayor Janet Evans a short time later.

Each of the drivers were the lone occupants of their respective vehicles.

"It's very tragic," said the Mayor, "and my heart-felt sympathy goes out to the family."

The victim was a popular and successful student at Edward Milne community school, and she worked at the SEAPARC Leisure Centre as well. Tributes in her honour are, or soon will be, underway at EMCS, and SEAPARC.

"We'd like to start a fund through the pool," said Amanda's step-father Randy harding on Tuesday, "so that any people who want to make donations could donate to this fund, and it would be used in memory of Amanda for children who could not afford swimming lessons or day camps."

Harding stated the funeral would take place Saturday, October 14, 2 p.m. at Sooke Baptist Church. A luncheon is to follow at Sooke Pentecostal Church.

Harding expressed deep gratitude to various businesses for their help, and "for the generous outpouring or support from throughout the community."

Harding also expressed thanks to the people at the Good Life Wellness Centre for receiving the family at the scene.

never did i say i was happy about any situation... and i dont need other people's grammatical errors to make myself feel good. And nor do I need some girl who died make me feel good(and for the record i think its pretty morbid and disgusting that you even thought i was impressed or happy about that situation). Mace, you are an intelligent person, i dont doubt that... it takes alot to correct other peoples grammar. But in the end, I still understood what griph. was talking about... and I didn't need you to correct him in any way so i could understand it 'better'. So the next time you think your all high and mightey cuz you rule a msg board... think to yourself and see where you are in society...
