minimags Whats with all the Canadian punkers selling out? Is our country so straved for attention and media we will do anything to get ourselves on the radio including changing our style and genre of music to get a little cash and success in the world? I mean, take The Special Guests for example- i remember them playing at my school like 5 years ago and they were alright, now they're playing some crap on much music. what the fuck! And Avril Lavine, hi, let's just make canada look retarded shall we? She was a country singer until some manager dude decided to make her more "accessable" to children our age.. and she doesnt even play punk music, its pop. She merely dresses as a " punk rocker" and acts all snotty and above everyone else. Now Hot Hot Heat is going all mainstream? what is the world coming to? When did people stop caring about the music they played and started to only care about how much money they make? Does our society base so much of their principals on the rich and famous? Or is there any way to be rich and famous and not sell out? Just some random mumblings. - Wed, 29 Jan 2003 6:24pm

H quit yer bitching, music isn't an art anymore - it's an industry. it's all about the $$$ and nothing else. except maybe for fame. - Wed, 29 Jan 2003 6:36pm
Anonymous Well minimags, first off all three of the bands you mentioned aren't punk bands. And I'm very sure that the boys from HHH still care about the music they are writing/playing, and don't (and never have) consided themselves "punk". And why does it bother you so much, bottom line either you like a band or you don't. Why do so many people suddenly dislike bands because they achieve some sort of popularity. Suddenly not liking a band because they are on the radio, is exactly the same as suddenly liking a band only because they are on the radio. Make up your own mind, listen to the band, if you like them .....great, if you don't .....great. nobody said you had to. - Wed, 29 Jan 2003 9:07pm

Actually the Special Guests just finished their new c.d., it took them like eight months to do, and I'm willing to bet it aint a punk album. Wanna know why? Cause they aint a punk band thats why. I know the whole damn band and they definitely arent punk rockers. They're a rock n roll band, and they're pretty damn good at it. That Avril chick, gimme a break, if she ever was punk it was for a couple of years at most, when she was a young teenager, sounds like a faze to me. Apparently she grew out of it. H.H.H. well, anyone that calls them a punk band needs to go watch the decline of western civilization again cause they aint got a clue what they're talking about. Whats the beef anyways, you think artists are supposed to put out the same album over and over again or something? If an artists tastes change it's going to reflect in their music, and hey some of them are just lucky enough to get paid a whole bunch of cash for it. - Wed, 29 Jan 2003 9:22pm
