Does anyone know that Victoria song, it's a cover of a country song (with the same name and different lyrics), laughed my ass off when I first heard it. It was a Hanson Bros. tune released on that NMN album "Mr. Right and Mr. Wrong," which was a bunch of unreleased stuff mixed with some new, I think.
From memory, I think the first verse went like this:
"Newly weds, nearly deads,
Seas of green, skies of lead,
Constant rain on my head,
Stately homes for the rich,
Bowling green, cricket pitch,
Victoria, what a bitch."
Anyone know the next verse (and so on)... - Tue, 28 Jan 2003 3:20am

"Land of hope and gloria
Stuck in old Victoria,
Guarateed to bore ya
Sentenced to Victoriaaaaaa"
There's one last verse... anyone know it?

I don't think the Kinks did the original, but I could be wrong. I think it was an ol' country love song written for a girl named Victoria. - Tue, 28 Jan 2003 3:46pm
