They should carry those ibanez gem things that steve vai endorses... with the handle... you know the ones. With an mp3 player in the side. That you can sync with house hold appliances.

What are they carrying anyways? - Thu, 24 Jun 2010 2:10pm

I may pick up one of those great little amps they've got.
There's a microwave in the back so I can prepare a snack.

....and it comes with a "clapper" on and off control...cool huh? - Thu, 24 Jun 2010 4:29pm

meh... as long as they have people that know their shit, then it shouldn't be a problem.
I wouldn't buy a high end piece of gear from them(however, if their extended warrenty applies to instruments, then it could be a valuable policy to rape :P even though you pay for it)

But its a good competition for L&M and the beginner/intermediate crowd; so I figure FS will sell mid-range stuff(unless Im totally wrong and they buy up some serious gear) - Fri, 25 Jun 2010 10:36am

I hope they start selling some high end stuff. In the US best buy sells Gibby's etc. It would be nice to have some competetion for the the L & M. - Fri, 25 Jun 2010 11:06am

I think it's awesome that future shop now sells music gear of any kind because now I can finally spend the future shop gift cards that I keep getting in birthday and christmas cards. - Sat, 26 Jun 2010 5:23pm

Personally, I think anyone that picks up a guitar & amp package is miles ahead of some of the dudes I know, crowing away about how great they can play song whatever on Rock Band. Seriously, these guys spend hundreds on the light show and smoke machine kit, song downloads, upgraded drum kit. I mean, I'm sure it's fun, I just wouldn't be in to making a 5-year hobby out of it. I don't know, I guess I got tired of doing air bands in the '80's if you know what I mean so anyone that picks up a real instrument is fine by me. My two cents. - Sun, 27 Jun 2010 9:55am

I hear ya Inhalian...

These guys that are ranting on about plucking away on a "Rock Star" video game just slay me.

Grab a real axe and find out just what you're not capable of.

My initial reason for starting the thread though was just to note that I really wouldn't want to purchase a guitar , amp, or any other piece on musical equipment, from the same guy that tried to sell me a toaster a week before. - Sun, 27 Jun 2010 1:51pm

I hear ya. I have to chuckle at the folks who buy these crummy instruments at XS Cargo and FS then try to sell them for more money on Used Victoria. Oh well, you get what you pay for. - Mon, 28 Jun 2010 8:51am

Ahahahah how did this turn into a guitar hero bashing thread? I play guitar, and also enjoy guitar hero. Amazing.

Also .. fucking futureshop .. fuck that place. I got an ipod touch from them and the headphones with the microphone built in broke, and they wouldn't replace them with headphones with a microphone built in because "they didn't have any, and 'everyone' wants that kind." Well sure as fuck they do, it came with the fucking ipod touch and now I can't easily record jam sessions anymore. - Tue, 29 Jun 2010 12:03am

I think L&M own the entire distribution rights to Gibson's in Canada. From the factory to the showroom that is.....
